When I was in Cali in March and we jumped a fence to climb out onto a cliff to watch the sunset over Catalina Island... Once I got out there and realized I was sitting on a big ass rock with a 60 foot drop on both sides I realized I was scared of heights! Then couldn't enjoy the sunset cuz I was thinking about how fire rescue would have to come and save me since I couldn't move for fear! Then Soul saved the day... had the back of my shirt and I scooted on my ass back up the rocks. He was laughing his ass off! Like he would have been able to hold on to me had I fallen 60 feet down anyway! So.... no more cliff climbing for me thank you very much!

Flying from Fairbanks to Anchorage in a very small plane.
Lots of turbulance, was dark, no inside lights on.
And there was a drunken native in the seat behind me,
screaming that we were gonna die. So i plugged my ears and hummed loudly.
I had two more planes to board after this one, so was
a very long trip.

I went rock climbing and the pin fell out of the rock. I fell 3 stories and slammed into the wall. I had a broken leg ,3 ribs cracked and my head split open. I hung there in pain for 2 hrs til they could reach me and get me down. I swear my life flashed before my eyes. I lost over half of my blood ,hanging there. It was very scary but it didnt kill me. So that only makes me stronger.

When my son was about 4 mos old I took him to this eagle santuary outlook off the road a bit and was on the pier with him and watching for eagles when a black-on-black muscle car pulled up (my car was the only one out there until the black car got there) and 3 guys got out and walked down the pier toward me and my son. I needed to walk around them to get back to my car. The first guy blocked my exit and said "cute baby" with zero emotion and the other guy said "cute mama" with a mean look on his face. I was going insane inside my head trying to figure out how I was going to get away from them and keep my child safe while doing it..........very scary situation in which I had no control over. Two of the guys came closer while the 3rd looked around the area. Suddenly, my husband, who had been napping in the passenger side of my car, sat up and honked the horn, saying, "let's go Kim!" It scared the shit out of the "scanning guy" and he immediately went back to his car, while the other two just moved out of the way and let me by, and stared at my husband in our car. When I got back into the car and drove off my now ex-husband said, " Don't think those dudes were looking to do a good deed back there, huh?" I just broke down and cried, so my husband drove the rest of the way back home. Was the most frightening experience because I felt so incredibly helpless. I never want to feel like that again.

When my youngest son was born.He was very jaundice and stayed in the intensive care unit
for a week. The doctor MISDIAGNOSED him with a fatal disease. He call it "Ornithine Transcarbamylase Deficiency". Which means that Ammonia is formed in the blood when proteins are broken down in the body, and is toxic if the levels become too high. He gave my son 5-7 days to live (scariest day of my life). His ammonia level was 177 and it should have only been between 11 and 33. To make a long story short, the dr's have labled him nothing short of a miracle. He is now 16 and healthy as a horse and has shown no signs of illness ever since we took him home a week after he was born. Yes there is God.

Like most of the other posters, had to do with my kids, each time come to think of it. When my son wasn't breathing and almost died, when he got hit by the car, when my daughter almost died in the womb, when she was in intensive care at 4 weeks...yep, the little rats will turn ya gray. Just two weeks ago both decided to take a turn in the hospital, as if to see just how much this old lady can take LOL

When I was 17 and the orthopeodist told me that by the time I was 25 I'd never walk again and I'd be in a wheelchair. I told him - no way, not me...
Now I'm 41 and I can stand on my own two feet and I can walk and even run. But at the time I was terrified that I'd never walk again.
