| A "friend" recently told me that on DH it's the "image of who they are currently wishing to portray"
Is that necessarily the truth or reality?
Probably not.
But it's who they currently want to be...so that's what is relevent.
How do we know when they're lying?
Now there's an EXCELLENT question?
Check the accuracy of the things they tell you.
Do your research
if they're someone you want to be close to you in your life...or someone you trust with your personal information - then you should do everything you can to verify they are who they say they are...
If not - stop communicating with them.
Nothing said, nothing lost.

| I'm lying, but the opposite way. It really pisses me off, the double standard about age (men can acceptably look seriously at females 10 - 20 years younger than themselves but seldom look at women older than themselves....And if a woman approaches a man 10 - 20 years younger than themselves, the woman is either treated like a POA, or she is looked at like she is several tools short of a shed.)
I recently had a man pursue heavily. We dated several times. He began asking questions about college, graduation years, birth years, and I told him my age. He stated that had he known I was "that old", he never would have spoken to me in the first place, and that was the end of that.
I'm upset. So for now, I decided that I can be 88. If some "think outside the box" individual with a strong constitution happens to see my profile, realizes I'm not 88...decides whether or not I'm worthy of a second look, then great. I'll welcome it. Otherwise, at this point I don't give a damn if I ever hear from anyone who puts themselves into little "Well, I am interested in a woman this age by this age and nothing else." box....
That is their preference and they have a right to it. This is my preference and I have a right to it as well. However, I think its pretty safe to see that I'm telling a blatent lie.....
And yes, when I get over being pissed, I'll probably change it back.

|  I sure wish I knew the answer to that one, still trying to figure it out myself. I was talking to a man the other day that has pictures of himself on 3 different profiles. Question is, Is that him, one of the other profile identities or, Is he all 3 profile identities himself, or Is the picture any of them at all, or just a fake. 
Anyway I e-mailed him about it, & naturally haven't heard another word.

| There is no defense for someone who knowingly lies, but there are some out there who are describing themselves as they see it, nobody thinks they're ugly, selfish or controlling
some of them don't even think they're players. Perception is in the eyes of the beholder some people think they're a good catch....but for who?
