| When I'm in love, my heart does my thinking for me, and I don't want any room between me and my special someone!
It's scary when the other person needs space or time to think. Sounds like they're ready to stop being "us" and start being "you" and "me" again.
Good luck.

| They aren't on the same page i am.
I'd take it worst case. They'd have to be DAMN sure if they wanted to continue with me. I wouldn't want to be with a fair weather friend, or someone where it's iffy.. borderline.. half way over the fence.. I don't want "not sure". I'd be putting on my running shoes..

| It depends on how long you have been in the relationship and what you has been going on in the relationship recently.
When a relationship is committed then there is no "taking a break". It is the communication and working through issues that make a relationship stronger no matter how hard it is.

| When it happened, I took it as the end (which made it so), years later we talked, and she admitted that she was looking for the "oh no!, I love you I don't want a break", Sorry at 40 and the one you loves says that they need a break, you give it to them. Say what you mean, and mean what you say.
