All of you Obama supporters, please read this. A foot note. Bill Clinton was not impeached. They voted to impeach him, but the number of votes for impeachment fell far short.

What A Black Columnist Has To

Say About Obama

http://www.nysun.com/article/71278

Ken Blackwell - Columnist for the New York Sun

It's an amazing time to be alive in America. We're in a year of firsts in this presidential election: the first viable woman candidate; the first viable African-American candidate; and, a candidate who is the first front running freedom fighter over 70. The next president of America will be a first.

We won't truly be in an election of firsts, however, until we judge every candidate by where they stand. We won't arrive where we should be until we no longer talk about skin color or gender. Now that Barack Obama steps to the front of the Democratic field, we need to stop talking about his race, and start talking about his policies and his politics.

The reality is this: Though the Democrats will not have a nominee until August, unless Hillary Clinton drops out, Mr. Obama is now the frontrunner, and its time America takes a closer and deeper look at him.

Some pundits are calling him the next John F. Kennedy. He's not. He's the next George McGovern. And it's time people learned the facts.

Because the truth is that Mr. Obama is the single most liberal senator in the entire U.S. Senate. He is more liberal than Ted Kennedy, Bernie Sanders, or Mrs. Clinton.

Never in my life have I seen a presidential frontrunner whose rhetoric is so far removed from his record. Walter Mondale promised to raise our taxes, and he lost. George McGovern promised military weakness, and he lost. Michael Dukakis promised a liberal domestic agenda, and he lost.

Yet Mr. Obama is promising ALL those things, and he's not behind in the polls. Why? Because the press has dealt with him as if he were in a beauty pageant.

Mr. Obama talks about getting past party, getting past red and blue, to lead the United States of America. But let's look at the more defined strokes of who he is underneath this superficial "beauty."

Start with national security, since the president's most important duties are as commander-in-chief. Over the summer, Mr. Obama talked about invading Pakistan, a nation armed with nuclear weapons; meeting without preconditions with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who vows to destroy Israel and create another Holocaust; and Kim Jong II, who is murdering and starving his people, but emphasized that the nuclear option was off the table against terrorists - something no president has ever taken off the table since we created nuclear weapons in the 1940s.

Even Democrats who have worked in national security condemned all of those remarks. Mr. Obama is a foreign-policy novice who would put our national security at risk.

Next, consider economic policy. For all its faults, our health care system is the strongest in the world. And free trade agreements, created by Bill Clinton as well as President Bush, have made more goods more affordable so that even people of modest means can live a life that no one imagined a generation ago.

Yet Mr. Obama promises to raise taxes on "the rich." How to fix Social Security? Raise taxes. How to fix Medicare? Raise taxes. Prescription drugs? Raise taxes. Free college? Raise taxes. Socialize medicine? Raise taxes. His solution to everything is to have government take it over. Big Brother on steroids, funded by your paycheck.

Finally, look at the social issues. Mr. Obama had the audacity to open a stadium rally by saying, "All praise and glory to God!" but says that Christian leaders speaking for life and marriage have "hijacked" - hijacked - Christianity.

He is pro-partial birth abortion, and promises to appoint Supreme Court justices who will rule any restriction on it unconstitutional. He espouses the abortion views of Margaret Sanger, one of the early advocates of racial cleansing.

His spiritual leaders endorse homosexual marriage, and he is moving in that direction. In Illinois, he voted for a statewide ban of all handguns in the state. These are radical left, Hollywood, and San Francisco values, not Middle America values.

The real Mr. Obama is an easy target for the general election. Mrs. Clinton is a far tougher opponent. But Mr. Obama could win if people don't start looking behind his veneer and flowery speeches.

His vision of "bringing America together" means saying that those who disagree with his agenda for America are hijackers or warmongers. Uniting the country means adopting his liberal agenda and abandoning any conflicting beliefs.

But right now everyone is talking about how eloquent of a speaker he is and - yes - they're talking about his race. Those should never be the factors on which we base our choice for president.

Mr. Obama's radical agenda sets him far outside the American mainstream, "even" to the left of Mrs. Clinton.

It's time to talk about the real Barack Obama. In an election of firsts, let's first make sure we elect the person who is qualified to be our president in a nuclear age during a global civilizational war.

Subject: Kind of scary, wouldn't you think

According to The Book of Revelations the anti-Christ is:

The anti-Christ will be a man, in his 40s, of MUSLIM descent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a MASSIVE Christ-like appeal.... the prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, will destroy everything.

Well, some of this is the difference between being a Republican and Democrat! I, personally, am thrilled that Obama is so liberal. Almost can't be too liberal as far as I'm concerned.

You bet, I'm sure that taxes are going to have to be increased. How blind are we to not see that someone is going to have to pay for this war. We are so far in debt now that it's going to be far beyound our life times before it is corrected. That's just a fact. How else can we regain financial security if taxes don't go up? No reason lying about it...it's just going to be a fact of life. And, no matter who is elected, it will happen.

As far as Obama's Christianity goes...that's between him and God. Being my president has nothing to do with where he chooses to worship on Sunday morning. Of course, what Rev. Wright said, for me, was more right than wrong! There I've said it. Most of what we hear was taken out of context, I've listened to the whole thing and, while hard to hear, is basicly the truth. Far closer to the truth than the white ministers who tell us that the war, 9/11 and Katrina were caused by Homosexuality and Aids!!! Can you believe they would say that???

I not surprised that Mr. Blackwell would be against the hand gun ban...he's big into gun collecting. I personally don't see any need to own handguns. Too easy to use, not to mention hide. My opinion, we're never going to ban handguns...the gun lobby is far too powerful.

Personally, I think Obama would like to bring the country together. Now, leave it some to find fault with that. Horrible isn't it? I think he will be far more likely to listen than the present administration has been. In fact, I firmly believe that.

Now, on to another of Obama's great sins. He is an eloquent speaker, yes, and guess what? There's nothing wrong with that...it's a breath of fresh air. Not a reason to elect a person but it doen't hurt to be able to walk and chew gum at the same time!

Now, I firmly believe that Republicans have as much a right to their view as I do. But, should we be "afraid" of Obama? I think that is just a fear tactic. Disagree, dislike but please don't be afraid. Why would we think that the bible would be refering to the United States. It's a stretch for me to imagine that those men who wrote the bible were imagining that the would, in the future, be a nation, half way around the world, that would think they were the center of the universe and that the bible was written just for them. Yes, I think the middle east is in a mess. Yes, I think sitting down and talking about it could do more for the good than killing thousands of people! Call me a liberal, it's OK. I'd rather try talking than killing, any day!

All in all, this is a perfectly viable article from a republican. I read several of his articles and I don't agree with any of them. But it is a view from the other side. I think it shows that just because he's black doesn't mean he knows everything about Obama or his ideas. Of course, all of this is just my opinion.

Just because a black columnist said it does not make it true. There are many blacks who do not support Obama simply because they see him as "not black enough".

Just like the whites who see him as "too black" or "muslim", they need to research the facts for themselves rather than blindly believing every stupid, biased thing that has ever been written about him. There are just as many or more, positive facts written about his life and achievements.

No one running has led a life that would be seen as perfect. That candidate does not exist. Anyone who would believe the ravings of a black republican who would suggest that Obama is the anti-christ, would believe that I have some excellent ocean front property in California that I will sell you for a nickel.

I like both Hilliary and Obama. I like Bill Clinton, and no, he wasn't impeached. But that does not mean I am willing to buy into all of the smut they are putting out there on Obama. I think it's dirty politics. Obama has only engaged in the smut throwing after he was attacked by them. In my opinion, he is the best candidate running.

So, which candidate is Mr. Blackwell for? As Americans, we have an obligation and duty, to vote for one or the other of the three. So what will those who feel that none of them are perfect, do?

Mr. Blackwell being black, has nothing to do with his credibility to judge or misjudge any of the candidates.
(Edited after reading the post above saying that Mr. Blackwell is a republican.)
So, obviously he is for the republican candidate.

This is old news that has been forwarded around the web for some time now and this is the 3rd time that I have seen this post by this black guy, and I have to agree, just because this comes from a black journalist, doesn't then somehow make it gospel. The real Obama is a fellow that was raised by his white mother, attends a black Protestant church, was only married once, and by the way, is still married to her, and they have 2 young children. He was to young to have served in Vietnam, saw through the Bush lie to illegally invade Iraq and voted against it. He's not a Muslem, but even if he was, so what? Our country was founded on the principles and beliefs of freedom of religion. NOT, on the freedom of just any Protestant faith, that's all, and even that didn't work in Northern Ireland. All John McCain is, is another Republican political liar that wants to continue the illegal war in Iraq. AND, Hillary can't control her husband, what really makes you thing that she can then somehow run the country? Thanks to Bush, our economy is in a shambles. The fastes and best way to get our economy back on track is to stop sending BILLION$ to Iraq, and that won't happen until we pull our troops out of there. Barack says that when he become president, our men and women start coming home. Right now, the best and only person for the job is Barack Obama.

There are less than eight months until the election,
an election that will decide the next President of
the United States. The person elected will be the
president of all Americans, not just the Democrats
or the Republicans. To show our solidarity as
Americans, let's all get together and show each
other our support for the candidate of our choice.
It's time that we all came together, Democrats and
Republicans alike.

If you support the policies and character of John
McCain, please drive with your headlights on during
the day. If you support Obama or H illary, please
drive with your headlights off at night.

Jeannie.....I am not trying to convince you or anyone who to support or vote for. I merely stated and showed what someone published about Obama. These are true facts that can be verified by going to the records. Apparently you are not versed on the bible. Mr. Blackwell is not the only and definitely not the first to link Obama to the Anti-Christ. You and the other gung ho Obama supporters have been disillusioned, because of his so called Charisma. Name me one significant thing he has done in Congress? Just look at the people he has aligned himself with. I have made my choice, and yes I am a Hilary Clinton supporter, and was overwhelmed to see her take PA by such a decisive margin.

Jeannie, you continue to amaze me! If we were to dig up dirt on all our past presidents it would be a novel thicker than "WAR AND PEACE". Using the analogy (and it may not be a good one) of a woman who has been raped, because she speaks up, and makes it known, she is usualy victimized twice. Once by the rapist and another by the courts, as they try to prove her a slut, or that she asked for it. I think when you are opening up your life to be a candidate for the Presidency of the US, you are doing the same, so to speak. You become like a victim for the media and the opposing candidates, and public to dig up every aspect of your life that may make you look less than the person you are. Alot of it is taken out of context, and magnified. For instance, Jack Kennedy was the first Roman Catholic to hold the position of president. Yet, he was married and having affairs with other women. This is viewed on as adultery in the church. What would have been the nations reaction to this fact while he was in office, had we known? Was he a good president dispite his womanizing? That is your opinion. And he wasn't called on it until after his death and then wasn't around to defend himself, or his actions, like Bill Clinton. We all have a past, and we all have skeletons in the closet, if you dig deep enough you will find them. But, is it possible they are there for a reason and maybe we have learned from our mistakes? The important thing is, have we learned from them?

Ddhriss...........

"Our country was founded on the principles and beliefs of freedom of religion." Apparently you do not know anything about history. America was supposed to be founded on religious freedom, by a bunch of outcasts from England. Then how come, even the Pilgrims tried to eliminate the native inhabitants, of the new world? This country is seeped in violence. The eradication, of the native inhabitants, the Boston tea party, General George Custer, etc., etc. As I asked before, what has Obama done in the congress? What about his association with the anti-American Rev. Wright? The million dollar home he acquired nest to the most crooked real estate mogul, in Chicago? As I said I have formed my opinion based on facts, what Hilary has accomplished, especially kids, and the lower and middle class of people in America. So each of us has to form our own choice, and may it be a wise one.

I am sorry, but, we actually don't have a choice. The Electorial College will make this decision for us.We are actually wasting our time thinking we really have a say in the politics of this world. I am so paranoid in my old age, that is to say that, I believe there is so much we DON"T know about the inner circle of things, that if we did, we would probably have mass suicide.

I know religion is not of that great an interest to a lot of folks here, but I have to say that even though it is supposed to be works of fiction, the best series of books I have ever read on end time therory is Left Behind, by Jerry Jenkins and Tim Lahaye. They are spellbinding and even if you are not a believer they are worth the reading. Gives a wealth of information and they are scripture based.

I do believe we are living in the end times, read the Bible, research the proffesies that have come to fruition, and read "A Case For Christ" written by an athiest scientist. It is all there for the information seeking persons who want to learn, and we all should learn all aspects of life and beliefs before we can make an informed comment here on this topic. Myself included. After all, what do we really KNOW for sure.

And again,,this is just my humble opinion

The most significant thing that Obama has done in Congress and the most important thing, as far as I'm concerned, is vote against the war.

I'm not sure where you got that I'm not "versed" on the Bible??? You got my oppinion on how I interpret the bible. May not be your oppinion but it is mine. Trust me, if I didn't have any idea what I was talking about I wouldn't have said anything!

As I said before...argue for whomever you want, more power to you, but let's keep these fear tactics out of it. The "Anti-Christ"??? Of course, many use that to make us very afraid. I've heard many call Hillary the Devil...does that make you believe it? I certainly hope not! I try to use common sense and a level head.

As far as I'm concerned there is nothing wrong with supporting Hillary, I just don't choose to this time. I gave them a good 8 years of my life and now I'm willing to let someone else try. But, please don't turn this into some sort of religious war, I know I'm certainly not going to.

What I fear the most is the "mob mentality". I'm tired of everyone being afraid of everything. I am just trying to use MY mind and feelings and oppinions to guide myself. I would love to change everyone but realize I can change no one. I celebrate individuals. Great. But please don't let people tell you who to be afraid of, decide that for yourself. After what we've been through the last 8 years, I'm not afraid of any of the three...I just choose Obama for the man I want to lead the country for the next 4 years.

jeannie I hope you didn't take my last post as an attack on you dear, I was just talking in a "general" way. Diversity is the spice of life, correct? And, as stated earlier, it is just My Opinion..
