| I met a few Illegal Aliens with brand new ford trucks. They really take pride in their autos.Made me a little jealous looking at my old rusty junker. but hey thats my problem right? Its up to me to earn a new truck.I always stand up for illegals because I could only imagine what their life would be like.Ive always lived in the lap of luxury and I am quite frugal about spending money on vehicles. but when I see an illegal earning less
than i do save up and buy a new truck while the rest of america cries ressesion it makes proud to be a mexican american. So suck an egg you friggin crybabies

| The way I see it is if people want to come to our country to live, then they should go & take the citizenship tests to do it. I'm tired of paying the way for those who come here & squirt out a kid just so they can stay here. That's bs. Fine, let them come & have their kids here, we have better hospitals, but then send them back to their own countries when they're healed & make it so their kids are not US citizens just because of it. That's what some countries have done, why can't we? jmo

| So, there is no distinction between illegal and legal, right?
Since you are a security guard lust, how well do you watch people? I would not hire you to watch my truck.

| I grew up believing that everyone had a right to do as they wished.I never looked at another person and said to myself " Hey that person is doing wrong .how can I stop this?"
I just let people be and do what they want to.They will have to answer to judge if they break the law.I won't so its really not my concern.Like when you see someone driving crazy or whatever. If you got upset everytime you seen someone make a traffic violation you would die of stress.
gypsy-they are not buying mexican trucks ,they are american made.pink drives a pearl harbor honda and doesnt feel guilty.

I bought a bird feeder. I hung
it on my back porch and filled
it with seed. What a beauty of
a bird feeder it is, as I filled it
lovingly with seed. Within a
week we had hundreds of birds
taking advantage of the
continuous flow of free and
easily accessible food.
But then the birds started
building nests in the boards
of the patio, above the table,
and next to the barbecue.
Then came the poop. It was
everywhere: on the patio tile,
the chairs, the table .
everywhere!
Then some of the birds
turned mean. They would
dive bomb me and try to
peck me even though I had
fed them out of my own
pocket.
And others birds were
boisterous and loud. They
sat on the feeder and
squawked and screamed at
all hours of the day and night
and demanded that I fill it
when it got low on food.
After a while, I couldn't even
sit on my own back porch
anymore. So I took down the
bird feeder and in three days
the birds were gone. I cleaned
up their mess and took down
the many nests they had built
all over the patio.
Soon, the back yard was like
it used to be.... quiet, serene
and no one demanding their
rights to a free meal.
Now let's see.
Our government gives out
free food, subsidized housing,
free medical care, and free
education and allows anyone
born here to be an automatic
Citizen.
Then the illegal’s came by the
tens of thousands. Suddenly
our taxes went up to pay for
free services; small apartments
are housing 5 families; you
have to wait 6 hours to be seen
by an emergency room doctor;
your child's 2nd grade class is
behind other schools because
over half the class doesn't speak
English.
Corn Flakes now come in a
bilingual box; I have to
'press one' to hear my bank
talk to me in English, and
people waving flags other
than 'Old Glory' are
squawking and screaming
in the streets, demanding
more rights and free liberties.
Just my opinion, but maybe
it's time for the government
to take down the bird feeder.
If you agree, pass it on; if not,
continue cleaning up the poop!

SCW: Wouldn't make a difference.
It would still be fake information.
I'd still write the same thing.
But like I wrote, "$338 billion is a little over 1/10 of the proposed federal budget for 2008.
You come across as a rational thinker most of the time, one.
You should be able to figure that out in your head.
If $950 billion was spent on the military in 2003, and we know that with the Iraq war those costs have increased, how much could we guestimate was spent last year on the military?
If you subtract that result from $3.10 trillion, along with the costs of Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, and other large budget expenses, that $338b looks even more implausible.

| US report - illegal immigrants not a burden to health care system
15 December 2006
A new report released last month in the United States concludes that illegal immigrants do not pose a disproportionate burden upon the U.S. health care system, contrary to increasingly strong rhetoric on the subject over the past two years.
In response to extremely heated political debate over immigration reform, the study was conducted to determine if illegal immigrants were, in fact, contributing to the decline of U.S. health care services.
Adult illegal immigrants tend to be younger and healthier than their legal-resident counterparts, resulting in relatively low use of health care services, according to the study. This directly contradicts many assertions repeatedly made by right-wing politicians and pundits in a strong push to impose harsh immigration reform efforts through various American governmental bodies.
Undocumented adults account for about $6.4 billion a year in national health care expenses, $1.1 billion of which is paid from public funds, according to the study by the Rand Corp., a conservative-leaning think tank. The publicly funded portion represents 1.25% of the total $88 billion in government funds spent on health care for adults other than seniors during 2000.
For comparison, the total cost of upgrades to the wall being constructed on the Mexico-United States border is currently expected to be between $30 and $36 billion and take most of the next decade.
The calculation of the cost of financing illegal immigrant health care was made by extrapolating data collected in 2000 and 2001 for a study of about 2,400 immigrants in Los Angeles County. The study did not account for what portion of the health services received that illegal immigrants paid for. Estimating the amount of health care money spent on undocumented immigrants is difficult because federal law prohibits hospital staff from asking a patient's immigration status.
Rand researchers chose to rely on the 5-year-old Los Angeles study because it contained detailed information on participants' legal or visa status, along with their health status, how much health care they used and whether they had any insurance coverage.
Of the 664 illegal immigrants in the study, 68% were uninsured. Only 19% had a chronic medical condition, compared with 38 percent of American-born adults, the study reported. About 58% of illegal immigrants reported visiting a doctor in the previous year, while 80% of adults born in the country had seen a physician.
About 11% of undocumented immigrants in the study had been hospitalized in the prior year, compared with 13% of the native-born population. Smith said undocumented women have relatively high rates of hospitalization due to childbirth.
"The public cost of immigration is not in health care," said James Smith, a senior economist at Rand and one of the study's authors. In context, the quote was specifically referring to illegal immigration in the U.S., especially of Latino immigrants from Central America and Mexico.
Health care providers that focus on low-income and immigrant populations agreed with the study's findings.
"Immigrants in general tend to be young, working people and they tend to be healthy," said Ralph Silber, executive director of the Alameda Health Consortium, an association of eight nonprofit community health centers. "People who are incredibly sick tend not to be crossing borders, and certainly not crossing borders illegally."
Still, Silber said, he's concerned about undocumented adults who avoid routine health care because of the cost or fear that their status may be discovered.
Illegal immigrants might contribute to crowded emergency rooms and hospitals' financial losses, but they are not the driving factor, said Jan Emerson, spokeswoman for the California Hospital Association.
"It is unfair for the public to place the blame for all of societal ills -- in this case, hospital ills -- on undocumented or illegal immigrants," she said, adding that the vast majority of the country's 46 million uninsured people are native-born or legal residents. "If we were to resolve the issue, we still have major problems with our health care system."
Health care reform is at least as controversial as immigration reform in the United States. For more than two decades there has been a push to make a universal health care system of some sort, similar to that enjoyed in Canada and the United Kingdom.
It is estimated that approximately 43 to 48 million Americans are currently without insurance, something that is increasingly being viewed as a crisis. Many special interests are pushing their personal rhetoric to explain the situation or to place blame, making credible, factual studies difficult to come by.

| iam, an immigrant my self so iam not going into that debate about illeaglas in any way, , but i would say if there was no need for them here, they wont be, maybe a year a go or less on NPR they had a show baout this subject and they had an interview with one of the farmer's union presidents and the man said : MORE THAN 90% OF THE FARM WORKERS are illeagal, this means if a farmer has to pay $20 /hour for a worker or even $10 then we will be paying $5 for a lb. of tomatoes, and maybe $10 for a 5 lb. of potatoes, or if all of the fast food workerspaid are $13 an hour or $15 then we need to pay $6 for a slice of pizza in NY or NJ , i live in an area where there is a lot of them and what i see is they are not into drug dealing, like some people says, they are just hard working people, who came to make a living,
i dont say its right or wrong, its we need them, and if its not becz of them life will be harder and more expensive.

| SCW: Would you believe the number is a staggering $1.45 billion annually for illegal aliens healthcare just in emergency rooms? Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
This came from United States Senator Jon Kyl:
The estimated annual cost to hospitals and other providers of emergency health care nationwide for illegal aliens is $1.45 billion. According to congressionally-commissioned research from the MTG Corporation, the annual cost to just the 24 counties along the border in Texas, New Mexico and California exceeds $200 million, and for Arizona's four border counties alone it's $32 million per year.
These unreimbursed costs, and other health-related issues, have put Arizona hospitals in a state of dire fiscal emergency. As a result, some have closed, or are in danger of having to close their emergency rooms and other services.
