You brought back some memories there. Growing up in the 1950's, I had a friend who developed rheumatic fever.
It was treated by a "year in bed" in those days. She was given a full Lionel Train set, and I was so jealous when
I visited her.

I won one in an auction back when I was maybe ten or so... played with it a few times, but mostly it's just sat in the box. I'm not sure what sorts of things are significant with trains for collectors, but if you're interested in buying, let me know what information you need about it and we can work something out.

Not any more, got rid of Lionel stuff years ago and went to "N" scale. I've built a better layout with the smaller scale. You can do a lot on a 4 X 8. John

I have a Lionel that I have had since I was 12. I keep it on a shelf in my house. The only car I am missing is the caboose.

I was always more fascinated by the larger scales, and had plans to start with an LGB kit this year, but then I found out the company recently fell prey to Chinese manufacturing like all the others, and decided it was a hobby I could do without.
