| So far I've met 3 people online. Had a long term relationship with one and things didn't really take off with the other 2. Locals are pretty limited and it seems like this site is pretty diverse in terms of geography. I'm willing pay $4 for a cup of coffee if it means meeting someone new.

| Hi everyone,
I find it interesting that almost everyone thinks that there is no one in there area to date,I have not had that problem. Carolina-you live in Boca Fl. I know that FAU is full of young beautiful ladies, go out of your house go to the beach.
I think that people are lazy about finding the time in general to get out and just meet people.
I was in Fla. on vacation and went out I didn't have a date but I met alot of people they also introduced me to more people and we went out as a group..I put up a tread yesterday under the events to go out to karaoke,I happen to know alot of people who go and I know where to go everyday of the week....As of to day not one response,I get the feeling that its really wanting to go out at all to make the effort....and I live in the Wahsington D.C metro area. This worries me.

| I think people come up with all kinds of excuses; work, distance, money, profile/pics-I think many people have given up and prefer to just look and chat on forums than take a risk. I have met a couple people and I hit it off with one but for personal reasons chose to remain friends. I have been told that my pic looks okay, so maybe I need a new picture? Maybe it is my profile, I don't know. I have tried to be specific about certain things that would bother me, but really being open to anyone who responds. There are plenty of people in my area but for whatever reason I haven't found the same attraction at the same time. I think people tend to say what they think others want to hear, like "yes, I would meet a person for a drink", or "I'll take a chance" but they never do because what they are looking for is so specific they never find what they are after. Well, happy hunting.

| To answer your question sdlove23, I've yet to meet anyone that lives near me that I would like to date. It's harder I think to find someone that lives in your area than it is on DH.

| I think they are making excuses for being scared, ok who has not been burned , I work 65 hrs a week raise a child myself 12yrs no weekends away (no mother) and still found poeple to date here. and make a date 2or 3 days a month, IF there is noone in your in your area on line, make a big sign DATE HOOKUP .COM ITS FREE and hang it at walmart or sears or what ever you have in your town. maybe this will help your odds,

| Well personally I have yet to meet anyone in my region that I feel a compatibility with.
Sure there are quite a few attractive women in my area but none that ignite that spark, "for lack of a better term."
If I do see someone of interest they ought as well live on the Moon, because it's usually further than 400 miles away. I remember some optimist posting here that there are no less than 300,000 people entirely compatible for you "Hurray"  .
Being the overflowing cup of cheer that I am on any given Monday  .I used that 300,000 to divide 6.8 billion and began to see a much clearer picture of what odds I'm dealing with to find a completely compatible person roughly 27000:1.
Now thats just "compatible" I chose not to even figure in age range or anything else into the equation in fear of Making a lousy Monday even more dismal ..
That being said I hope I find a compatible person.  .
I'm simply not overly optimistic about it either.

| I believe people in here are scared to look for someone "outside" cyberspace, i think they feel embaressed by the way they look or the way the live that they don't have the courage to talk to people they see on the street and they feel safer doing it online, knowing that they can't be seen only by pictures they post in here, pictures they post when they were younger..People have to stop making excuses for themslves and just start making time, time is all we got and if you don't use it wisely, you are just wasting it.
