Some people will call it their legacy, but I am curious. What is your most valued accomplishment to date in your life? If a book about your life was to be written, what would be your favorite chapter?

I agree with Stormy..... Single mom of 9 years and it has been the most accomplished challenge I have had and will continue to be. Yes coming a long way from my early 20's to now and all the hard work has been well worth it and will continue to be. I have grown as an individual and as a mother, nothingcan replace that!

Somehow or another I learned early in life about opportunities and how to take advantage of what is put in front of you. I wanted to write a book named CHARMED--I have had a charmed life. Nope--no wife or kids--that was my choice. But I had unexplained good fortune that I can look back on and say " I have had the life of 5 people" And at 60 I am still healthy enough to work an extremely demanding job--never miss a shift and feel like a kid everyday. For the sake of mentioning it, I studied percussion as a kid--anytime on drums was heaven to me--music was and still is a big part of my life. I had a natural talent for drawing--I could sit and draw for hours--a quiet diversion from music. I equally divided my time between music and art. As a teen I learned old fashioned sign painting--don't ask why i hung at sign shops instead of playing ball--I loved painting and lettering---I was grateful for the lessons. Another passion was flight--having 2 airports in town gave me a lot of exposure to planes--I watched them touch and go--I talked to the pilots--I loved it. So I played music in school music classes and did the marching band thing---I hung out with brushes when I could on the weekend--I rode my bike to watch planes--anytime I could. After college I went in the Air Force--A chance encounter with an influential sergeant found me painting murals on chow hall walls and base buildings---waiting to audition for the Air Force band. The base commander loved my artwork and found out my third choice of jobs in the Air Force was to "fly"---he saw to it I got to "fly." I was on one of the early revolutionary C119 gunship conversions in Viet Nam....before the famous C130 of today. I was discharged in 1972 and immdiately returned home to find a job on the fire department--right up my alley--I love that work. I have been a fire fighter and NOW I am on the exclusive and competitive RESCUE SERVICE that really challenges us all day and night--ANY JOB---ANY PLACE---ANYTIME. I still do Norman Rockwell style illustrations as a sideline--and I still practice the drums an hour a day. I Bought a farm a year ago--a new venture for retirement years. I love all the big equipment and the 300 year old house. This is my life--I have lived by a tried and true credo---take advantage of what comes your way...even if it is just for a little while.

I'm a HUGE military supporter...So I guess I will be remembered for all the military support I do...I have 11 adopted soldiers...7 adopted military families...I go visit the Vets in Durham's VA hospital...There's just so much I do to help our soldiers (past & present)...That I can't list them all...They are my heart...

For me it's the few times in my life when everything clicked, and I wrote a special sentiment to certain female friends, in which my writing touched their inner soul, and they admitted tears flowed in appreaciation.
