| No, not true at all. I have been physically abused for seven years, not to mention emotionally, mentally, and verbally....I was in denial.....But i had a child by this man and was trying to make it work. Once you are in an abusive relationship you tend to think that you have no choice but to be with the wrong men....when a man holds the door open for me, i say no thank you, go ahead, or if he smiles at me, i put my head down, or if he puts out his hand and tells me to go on in the elevator before him, im embarrassed. I am just not used to good men....I am not used to it yet....I have been single for ten years. It is hard to get used to. Now i am ready. So now I have to set my mind and get it ready for spoiled treatment you could say and not take offense to anything, and be grateful if i should find the right man someday, because men do get offended if i dont show them the common courtesy that they are doing. But, I am a very good hearted and honest woman, and I do not cheat. I got out while I could. Some women are just used to bad men. But i am not like that.

| a woman wants to feel she caught you, the chase, is better than the kill, when you cower to every need, they walk on you ,and talk shit to you,but when you learn to be stern, yet be respectful, you will get better results.

| Do you believe that those you described might feel as if they weren't worth something better,...for any number of reasons? A self esteem issue, perhaps? Those that are confident within themselves,...know what they want (for sure),...and have ambition,...more often than not,...find what they seek.

| If the only relationships they've felt loved in have included abuse, then that drive, that need to feel loved might outweigh the SCREAMS of their inner voice telling them they deserve so much better.

| Hi Duckman-
It's hard to see your pic, btw, it is very dark...
Anyway, don't let yourself get away with that old excuse...too many guys try to lay that on women (oh, she only wants a bad guy, etc.). Nah...it just isn't true.
In my opinion, there is a difference between being a “good guy” and a doormat, though. It all runs on a continuum. Passive aggressive guys who are ‘good guys’ and don’t complain, etc. are just as much a pain in the a** as the aggressive guys who scream at you for accidentally denting their car door with the grocery cart. What most (healthy) people want is someone that stands up for themselves and takes responsibility for their actions without infringing on the other person’s “space”. If you find yourself out with someone who seems to be giving you the “you’re too nice” vibes, ask yourself if you are possibly being a little passive? Ask her, while you’re at it. If you can’t find anything that you are doing that would be doormatish, than try try try again with the next gal.
