| sounds like you have some good advice. I would take the do it your self way.I payed five ppl to work on my floors and they all had to be done over except the one I did. I don`t skimp on supplies and I do it right were others just want to get it done and paid.Iv`e learned if you want it done right do it yourself if you can.

| I'm with the guys make sure you level out the low spots. If your not level your tiles will crack and you'll have a hell of a mess. Keep the extras just in case. Are you going with marble, ceramic, slate or limestone. What size tile? Make sure you have the right trowel. They do make left handed trowels for lefty's. Make sure not to get to far ahead of yourself with the thinset. Also use the spacers if you've never done it before. Make sure if you are renting a saw they give you a new blade on the wet saw. Nothing worse than trying to cut tile with a dull blade.
Good luck

| I would help if I was closer. You will do great its not that hard is right. Let it set at least 24 hours before grouting. A little pointer for down the road. Your grout will pull away from any wood. Say 6 months down the road give it a once over. If its pulling away get some caulk(same color). Just put a small bead of caulk along the crack and tada all better. Best way to smooth the caulk out is to get a cup of water and some paper towels wet your finger and lightly smooth it out.

| Great Idea doing it yourself and having friends help. Just a suggestion to make it go quicker. Don't wear a mini skirt when you do it and no one gets to drink it it's done
