Some of you may remember that I had a major flood that ruined all the floors in my house.

I have my new ones picked out and I'm ready to install.

I have decent help and all the necessary tools to install them, it will be a tedious job.

If I do it myself (with help of course), I will save 3000.00 dollars.

So is it worth it or should I get it professionally installed?

I've always done my own work......there's nothing like the feeling of accomplishment & empowerment when you do it yourself! But for gawd sake...read the directions! Oh wait! You're a woman...nevermind!

ditto what dragon said. just take your time. sweat equity is more than just saving money.

and remember, don't just measure twice, measure 3 times and only cut once!

and don't let the help have any beer till the day is done!!!!!!

If you know a licensed ,insured contractor that you trust and have seen his.her work ,and are impressed , go with the contractor.
Don't try to be a contractor ,if you don't know what is involved .
How much money is your time worth ?
A job done by a professional at $ 3000.00 verses
your time and effort and rework of the work that could have been done right the first time is very ,very costly and frustrating .

I wish you needed an electrician .

I am the same way...I would try to do it myself. It will take much longer and it probably won't look as good, but I'd be much happier knowing that I did it myself...
Besides, even hiring professionals won't guarantee that they would actually do the job right in a timely fashion...
