| does anyone else see the irony in being online here all by myself, while eating Chex Party Mix and wishing there were someone to share them with??
Being new here, not sure how else to participate except by joining some threads and making comments. But it seems at the end of the day, I'm still by myself.
Wondering if my profile is off-putting to most people.

| have an idea.... start a forum saying something like this. what do you eat while sitting in front of the computer looking for that perfect one? short cake with whip cream, chocolate swirled ice cream , or a full course meal with steak and potatoes,?
the idea is to get a forum up, and you respond to those people after every 3 to 4 hits. you must do forums for about 2-3 months. women do read your posts... so be careful what you say... you can use this or re write it better your way... good luck!

| looked at your profile.
women don't like to compete with a dog. most dogs will sniff womens butts when they walk up to a guys house they never went before. and unless that woman is a super in love with dog kind of gal.... dogs are just that just dogs. 2nd to people. in your profile you write as if your dog is a person, real close to you..
sometimes we all know our pets are the only ones who give a squat that we came home. but the reality is your dog would eat you , if he got real hungry . i mean its a dog...
smoking is the other one. lot of women don't like smoking
other one is your religion of choice. not to many Buddhist women out there... in good old u.s.
but if your here to meet people and get better at social savvy skills. this is a good place.
good luck to you...

A little about me...
Love children, dogs and horses. Enjoy a good book, usually a woman's thriller. I like movies, chick flicks, adventure, horror.
Oh and on topic! I see nothing wrong with your profile, except you are 1365 miles from me! Good Luck to you.

| It is a good idea to post in the forums as often as possible.
And as far the dog comments, animal lovers would love it that you care that much about your dog. Is it is whippet? And I bet he would like to eat some chex mix with you.
I seldom look at a profile unless someone has posted something that catches my attention, then I check out the profile. You can learn far more here than from a profile. The best firends I have made here came from the postings that came right from the heart.

| ccube,
Hints for good profiles:
1) Write about who you want to meet, less about who you are
2) Photo - primary, a good frontal head shot
3) Additional photos - interests, one good full body standing, a few showing your moods, if you post kids use photo shop to blur the faces
4) music - sign on to PlayList.com add some of your favorite songs and copy the html onto you personality section
5) Forums - participate - be honest, be yourself
Look at my profile and my posts and ask if you need help
Try these, and see if your luck changes.
Mine has . . . I am in a very slow romantic courtship with a worthy and wonderful lady. My chances of success are slim, but I am hopeful.
I am here for you.

| lol usa kindheart..
I tried to sit on my hands. BUT DOGS HAVE GIVEN THEIR LIVES TO SAVE HUMANS.
If i had to choose which was the more noble creature.. i think dogs would win.
I have NEVER met a more loyal or devoted creature than my dog(s).
Dogs even risk their lives to save strangers. I cant think of anything that would keep your kids or house safer either.
If i have a choice there will ALWAYS be a dog in my life. Women are optional tho
and to the OP i LOVE chex mix! I add hot sauce to mine tho!
EDIT: added the following;
and it's been proven dogs add years to your life.

| fryyyy, I was trying to keep my mouth shut. I agree with you. I have one dog that is aggressive but he would never hurt me and I can't picture a dog eating a human. LOL People with animals are blessed to have them.

| Thanks for all the comments, both here in the thread and those emailed to me.
By the way, the pooch is a retired racing greyhound, 10 years old and has bone cancer. He has been my kid for the past 5+ year.
I know the smoking is a turn off, but I'd rather be upfront. Am thinking about quitting, but it is the last vice I have left!!
Being clean and sober was what I thought would turn off most people. I knew the Buddhist part seems a bit different, but it now what I practice more than the 30+ years of my childhood religion. It speaks to me more about loving kindness and acceptance.
I will take all of your suggestions to heart and will tweak my profile over the next few days.
thanks again.

| I quit smoking cus i felt ripped off at the $6.25 I have to pay per pack I"ve paid 26 cents per pack before.. Plus i got kids whining at me to quit. etc.. I hate getting ripped off!.. Not too happy with price of gas either..
er I stopped smoking.. i don't think addicts can ever really quit.. unless they die. i have lapses every now and then.. So even tho i don't smoke for 95% of the year.. i still consider myself a smoker. I really enjoy a good smoke now and then
Welcome to the forums OP. Nice dog!
