No Bashing on this thread, please. This is in no way meant to be offensive to anyone.

I have seen several threads titled something like "would you date someone with "CP", "why do men only want skinny women," "would you date someone with a disability," "is my profile really that bad," should I have left off my picture." You get the idea.

It sounds like you think that way about yourself, that you are not datable for a certain reason, that you consider other people better than you, or you are not deserving.

Nine times out of ten that is not the reason. If you don't feel good about you, it shows, and no one wants to be around you. But if you think positively about yourself and "Let Your Light Shine," others will be drawn to you. Maybe it won't always be the one you want it to be. In that case, it wasn't meant to be or maybe they aren't worth YOUR time. Just be happy with you and others will be too. There is someone for every one of us.

I've seen the threads as well. Low self esteem and it's a way to gain attention of "please feel sorry for me" ... not attractive to the eyes of a potential mate. When a male does that then I'm thinking hmmmmmmmm low confidence ... not a turn on for me NEXT.

Gotta love yourself before you can give love to someone else.

I agree...a person shouldn't identify themself by their disability or difference...that's only one facet of the entire diamond.

I can't stand those pity topics. I just won't comment in those threads.
We all have bad days. But self pity is a symptom of low self esteem. Low self esteem is never going to get you a lover and/or relationship.

boo hoo threads are not so bad if it leads to an intelligent conversation...

sometimes women i have found on dh are a little judgmental, i can also be one, if you hit me on one of my 5 days of the month.

but some are just ..... all the time....

oh about the same kind of thread. other sites have forums for old post , archives. so sense you all seem to be old pros at this... maybe the head honcho will listen to you , and he can gather the similar ones up. and start archive threads...

example. all threads that pertain to fat women and dating...
skinny women and dating...
people who gripe alot....
what women really want...
what men really want....
what women want in first emails to catch their attention...

i bet you all could come up with more....

hey you could start a new thread with this.

what archive titles would you choose???

USA, That just might not be a bad idea, especially when the same person posts the same thread three times in one day.
