but think about this, in a way we are gods ourselves. so wouldn't it make sense that this life here is heaven and hell? i mean we control our lives and if we control it incorrectly we are in hell. if we stay on top of our lives we are in heaven. i just cant imagine a better place than the one we have here on earth. i also believe if we act like we are in heaven every second of our lives it will not matter if thier is a god because he/she/whatever will know were to put us according to our actions anyway. so i am going to love mankind and tread lightly on my piece of heaven and when the time comes for me to leave this wonderful place i will have no regrets. i will just be happy to have had hte chance to be here.

That is a very good way to live ones life.Too many christians are obsessed with life after death. Some would even welcome the catastrophic end of the world.I think the force of creation that put us here wants us to live every day to its fullest and love one another as he loves us.However,I would have to disagree with viewing yourself as a god I think that is the problem with the world. If a man views himself as this he can then justify almost anything he does as rightious.Hitler viewed himself as a god and look at what evil and suffering that monster unleashed upon this world.I come as a humble servant to all of humanity.

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world.
And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever

1 John 2:15-17

I can't help anyone "understand" the bible, or to believe. I believe it is the Word of God but I didn't believe that always. And before I believed I tried reading it but it was gibberish. Now it's not. I can't explain that to anyone other than saying it's changed me, it's changed everything for the good. I pray that you guys will keep seeking because I believe everyone seeks God even though they may not know. I was seeking Him from the time I was a child but I didn't know it was Him I wanted and needed. I sought God through all the wrong "things" and all the wrong "places" but I don't regret where Ive been because if people can see a life like mine changed for the good, then they will know theirs can certainly be changed Love to both of you, denise

well said ,

heaven and Hell are states of being, and God is the God of the Living, according to jesus.

also Jesus tells the Pharisees, and the Saducees, I believe, the lawmakers and the church leaders basically, the government and church, that they WONT go into heaven, and he also says that they are keeping those that wish to enter from entering.

they are doing that because they are teaching false teachings.

jesus was at odds with the established church, and all churches are built on THOSE church.

Jesus also says spirituality is the capstone that the builders of the church rejected.. There are so many instances where this is supported by Scripture.

Heaven is a state of being in spiritual harmony with our source of being, which as Jesus says is spirit, the spiritual kingdom is Gods Kingdom according to Jesus.

all of the other faiths support this same belief. when you are in a state of being that is inlined with what is right and good in the world, with no ulterior motives, You are in heaven, and all things run smoothly.

As a society, we have been led to worship at the altar of the world, rathert han spirit, we value things over spirit.

"- If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world."

This applies to every christian that i have known or know about!

Of course, christians claim that their lusts are "godly" lusts!

Proud, arrogant, hypocrites!

You don't know all christians so you just need to get out more. Yes, there are many who claim to be christians but are not following Christ. He said in the bible that He will tell them "He never knew them" and all the time on Earth and yes, these people will be surprised because they are deceived by satan, their own proud, arrogant hypocricy. The Pharisees were identical to this definition of false-christian, ignorant of the true Word of God, Jesus Christ. They hated Him because they were the "big shots" with all the money and fancy titles and carnal to the bone. To believe in Christ, they would have had to give up there positions and admit they were wrong. A real stumbling block for the humanoids, admitting there is a God and we ain't Him.

Cooper, I agree with your way of living and try, as best I can, to do the same. Life is a wonderful gift, it is so sad that so many do not see this. They waste their whole lives waiting to die and never appreciate the wonder that is around them.

nw, so have i finally met the ONE TRUE cHRISTIAN?

i keep hearing about this elusive creature, a mythology that is used to defend the perversity and organized ignorance of christianity, but in all my years have never met one!

So, superstition does work for good!...The nonsense in the bible and church teachings has produced one TRUE cHRISTIAN!.. and that proves that chistianity is the one true religion!

How deeply would we have to look to uncover some ungodly thought or deed?

And when found, would that not put you into the same foul pen with the others?

And the FACT OF THE ONE TRUE cHRISTIAN becomes myth again to be used for argument that christianity is not as corrupt and perverted as it appears.

I am sorry I did the quote thing wrong. I answered within your qoute,

Quote from skunkbreath:
nw, so have i finally met the ONE TRUE cHRISTIAN?

I am a sinner saved by Grace but I am fairly certain Im not the only one. A follower of Christ, imperfect, flawed, been broken more than once and will be again. If I wasn't these things I'd have no need for Christ.

i keep hearing about this elusive creature, a mythology that is used to defend the perversity and organized ignorance of christianity, but in all my years have never met one!

You carry a lot of resentment for something you don't believe in? If He doesn't exist then why does it seem He is such a threat to you? People don't "strike out" unless they are threatened. There are people and establishments in this world that call themselves christian but they are counterfeit. Im sorry you've been hurt.

So, superstition does work for good!...The nonsense in the bible and church teachings has produced one TRUE cHRISTIAN!.. and that proves that chistianity is the one true religion!

I believe the bible, but every man and woman have their own choices.

How deeply would we have to look to uncover some ungodly thought or deed?

Again, Im a sinner.

And when found, would that not put you into the same foul pen with the others?

with what others? Sinners?

And the FACT OF THE ONE TRUE cHRISTIAN becomes myth again to be used for argument that christianity is not as corrupt and perverted as it appears.

Again, there are corrupt and perverted people in every religion/belief system including christianity.

If what you believe brings you peace in your life and all the things you want out of life, then you will understand why I believe in the bible. God's Word brings me peace and helps me make sense of life. I don't know you and haven't harmed you so I understand it isn't personal that you attack. But I would like to know more about why you are so hateful toward christians/christianity/Jesus Christ. You are welcome to write me email as well as post here.

denise, a follower of Christ

You are so right. Im reading a book called "How to handle Adversity" by Charles Stanley. You might want to read it. It's small and an easy read, just right for me In it Charles states that adversity(troubles)come from 3 places, sometimes of our own making, sometimes from satan and sometimes from God. He has scripture to back everything up of course.

God bless, denise

Coopertheone ~ I agree with you/your theory or perception.

Just to add: “All things are possible to him that believeth.”

“I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)”

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and don't lean on your own understanding. In all things acknowledge him, and he shall direct your way. [Proverbs 3:5, 6]”

In both this life & the afterlife.
