| I suppose it's as real as it could get and still be entertaining. What irks me are shows like Survivor, where contestants are supposedly put to the challenge of using survival skills to determine who is the best, yet the show uses ridiculous challenges and a glorified popularity contest to determine it's victor. To me that deters from the reality of the show. You get more reality from the shows on Discovery and A&E, but for the most part, the shows on the other networks fall way short of being actual reality TV.

| Not Real. These shows are so edited that you see only what you are edited to see. So, if you see one person who is always screaming at another, the viewer assumes that the screamer is out of control.. But in fact, the person, is probably a reasonable person but the editor of the reality show is only Clipping those sensationized portions to shock the viewer. I fashion reality TV much like politics. If the Wright issue.. such as it is.. if one thing is said.. over and over and over again.. then we label Rev Weight.. as anti-American.. or a black racist.. just because he said.. a couple of words.. and we really don't know him completely.. so it's hard to judge a person.. unless we have all of the facts.. instead of film.. cuts all over the floor!
