| I think Jonathan and David were a great example. They are one of the preferred couples used as "proof" of gays in the Bible by some advocates, but I think that if you've ever HAD a true friend, then you know that there doesn't have to be any kind of sex involved.
The best friends I've ever had were the ppl who told me the truth regardless of what I wanted to hear. Often it is proceeded by "Do you want the truth or a nice-sounding lie?" lol
(And it's a coin-toss as to which I choose, some days.)
But a friend will voluntarily go out of their way for you, at times, and their actions will confirm what your heart tells you about them. There is trust there, acceptance and respect, and appreciation. If only I could find a man with the qualities I see in my best friends...but I guess that's kind of why I'm here, huh?  
AND of course the most important friend mentioned in the Bible is the "Friend who is closer than a brother"

I would say to anyone who does whatever I tell them.. your my friend, too.

| If you look in the Catholic bible and some Protestant with the extra books and turn to Sirach chapter 6 verse 5 through 17 it describes true friendship very well.
A kind mouth multiplies friends,
and gracious lips prompt friendly greetings.

and be not too ready to trust him.
For one sort of friend is a friend when it suits him,
