I may be very ignorant here but I did not know about it. We had valid electric cars that would have, and should have replaced the combustion engine. Everyone needs to see this is all I can say!
go to http://www.pluginamerica.org/
check out "who killed the electric car".
You would not believe the extent that our gov and the oil co and auto makers went too. just too keep us from backing away from oil........ I just watched the movie it is just unbelievable! Makes me very angry that we are paying sooooo much for fuel that we did not have to have a need for.

Your behind just a little, but I'm very glad you brought this up more ppl need to know how the ppl and the gov have been screwing us over and not making these new technologies available to us!
Back in the late 80's a man named Thomas Browne and another man I can't remember worked for UPS who invented a engine that could run on anything (as tom would say) if you drank enough vodka the night before you could piss in the tank if need be and it would run...So to present day ups has called with much belated interest in this we can only pray ppl get on board before it's too late for our earth & us...
thanks for the post...

This is all fine and dandy but........how much horsepower and torque can they put out with this engine? I dont need a vehicle to just "get me around town"

Just think of it....pretty soon we'll be using corn to produce electricity to charge our cars. Oh Oh Oh - the left is So So So looking out for us. Anyone feel "Gored" about now?

The electric cars were put on the market and hardly any one bought one because in most cases were in practical except in certain parts of the country.

They are still available, and they use both gas and electric, they used to be slow I think, but now they are better.

That tall blonde actor, that was on St Elswehwere, I can't remember his name, Ed Begly Jr. he had those cars, he has been green since the 80s.

I think another problem witht hem was that they didn't go very far before they needed recharged. but I think they have worked that out too.

The cars talked about were the all electric cars that were offered not cars like the Pris.

Isn't it amazing how this country can spend BILLIONS of dollars on space travel, and yet, we don't have transportation to get from point A to point B on this planet without costing us $4.00 a gallon. It is like the safe cigarette. This country doesn't want a cigarette that is safe. The tobacco companies make $$ and so does everyone else who is involved when people get sick from smoking. They don't want us to have cars with alternative fuel sources, or heat or homes with solar or wind. They want us sick, dependant, and to just shut, and put up with it.

SCW: If Rev. Wright had criticized the oil companies, would you all have labled him as "anti-oil companies?"
