| Women why is it the first thing you ask for is a picture? If you will stop deciding who you will get to know on DH on whether he is cute or not, you might actually find someone who is truly a soulmate, bestfriend or compatible for a long term relationship. Is all you all want is just someone cute to take to bed? I thought this was about relationships...I teach school so i don't want to post a pic...cuz kids have a way of finding everything .....but no women will respond unless they have a pic of me..my looks have never been an issue and you'll get your pic and see, but PLEASE, can't we get to know each other, just a little....divorce is so high because we base our relationships on looks, not compatibility.....

| Physical attraction is based on looks, not relationships.
Relationships start thru attraction, 'physical' being one of them.
Divorce is caused by 2 people marrying out of convenience, social pressure, business, or yes, lack of compatibility... not looks or attraction.

| Physical attractiveness (similar to a spark) is the beginning of a potential relationship. I think it is waste of my time to learn about a man only to find out that I dont feel chemistry.

or maybe h spouse just cheats because he has psychological issues about being a MAN and equates it with how many women he can do... wife finds out... divorce.
there is a lot of reasons for divorce... too many for this thread for sure...

Someone also mentioned physical attraction is based on looks? well I think mental attraction is more important. Seduce my mind not my eye's. u can have the sugar coated stuff.. i want the real thing.

I want the real thing too!! I talk to ppl all of the time with no picture. Many of my really good friends do not have pics on their profiles for various reasons. I am meetng someone that I have had a great deal of contact with. Nice, sweet conversations....
No pic and I havent even seen one yet but I can't wait to meet him.

| shadows are always percieved as people that have something to hide......mainly because with tecnology the way it is today theres virtually no reason why someone cant post a pic.......unless they chose not to.........and on a dating website!!!..no offense to shadows but i delete them when they send me a wink or a message............I have a pic posted............. they can at least do the same!!!.............thats how i feel personally.............. thats just me!!!

| So mr niceguy0013,  do you contact only those women who do not have a picture? If you teach during the week and drive truck during the weekend, how do you find quality time to be committed to a long term relationship? Furthermore what are you teaching your students about relationships if you have to hide yourself, it's no different than meeting someone at a truckstop is it? Your personal life has nothing to do with your teaching life or your trucking life, unless you make it so. Define your boundaries & expectations and above all be respectful, accountable & responsible. I'm sure the students will understand, afterall they are learning how to define theirs as well. Be a positive role model, first to yourself, then to those around you and to us.
Relationships start with compatibility & looks. A picture  says a 1000 words, men want body (profile) pictures, women want close-ups, so have both. As for your students, what difference does that have to do with anything? As long as you're respectful, open & honest about being single, then there is nothing to be afraid of, all you've done now is just created another barrier & you're asking "Why are WOMEN so shallow?" Do not be blind about expecting women to live up to your standards? If your looks have never been an issue, then step up to the plate & post it, I'm sure there will be a stampede of responses of those just waiting to contact you. Anyway, I certainly don't blame women for not wanting to respond to anyone without first seeing them, hell you or they (other men without pix) could be the poster boy for "America's 10 Most Wanted" and hoping to get a little lucky. I'm sure that the correlation between the divorce rates & looks has nothing to do with it. People do things that bring the relationship to an end, what we must realize is that it is now time for us to move on. End on good terms & start over. Learn from your experiences, don't repeat old patterns, and work out your differences so that compatibility is never an issue... support life & love.
As for your response "well when your perfect  how can you do any wrong....but if that's your idea of..." now this sure sounds like you've got other undealt issues just below the surface. All that 'Perfectwoman' stated was that physical attraction is just one aspect of a potential relationship & I agree. If I were (legally) blind, I would seek other attributes & inner beauty, since I'm not, I want to see who is interested in me & my picture is out there for all to see, warts and all. We all have our preferences & why shouldn't we? Best of luck...
