| Now I know that everyone had their own family traditions concerning these 2 days, when they were growing up.
In my case, as a kid, My dad got the present on mothers day for himself. the first time he did that, my mom was very perturbed about it, and got very bent out of shape.
He told her that he should get the present seeing as how he made her the mother. (mind you he had forgotten about what day it was) Mom kept that statement in mind, till fathers day came around.
she went out and got herself a present on fathers day for herself. dad had said something about it to her and she replied that she made him the father.
after that, the tradition stuck and was adopted by others in the family. it has been a big running joke ever since. the guys usually get fishing gear of some kind as the season opens around the same time and most are avid fishermen. the women usually get themselves some summer apparel.
lets hear about some of your family traditions, funny or not!

| Mother's day, to me, is like any other day. I cook, I clean, I do the errands, etc. I did get a handmade present from my son. A painted nut that was made to look like a strawberry. I'll have to figure out where to put it now
Now if there are any volunteers to do all the chores for me, I'll gladly accept it
