Can you think of what a world this would be if the ten commandments weren't in the Bible.

I know some people don't care about them, and we are all human to error. Thou shalt not kill is definitely one I don't take part in, but if an intruder was to break my door down I would definitely defend myself. Thou shalt not steal is one I never will always abide by. To love thy neighbor as thyself is a hard one especially when the neighbor is mean and a pest and you would like for her to quit using you as a target for her life. We've all had neighbors and so called friends like this, but after a while you quite talking to these people as they wear you down.

Its kinda sad that we are actually living today like these never existed!!! No one pays any attention to these today, as if they dont pertain to our lives! So sad, what has happened to this great country, disrespectful, neglecting, inresponsible human beings having no love for our neighbors, killing and destroying everything that is beautiful and pure!! Its a sad place and God will pour out his judgement on us! Lord forgive us!!!

Well you can thank your illuminati gangsters running the world and your loving government for destroying everything that is beautiful and pure. It's called divide and conquer and you have been divided in order to be conquered, along with the world around you.

You have a schitzogenic mind who is living in a schitzogenic society, you have been divided inside and the intelligent center in your brain has been cut off. You are destined to spend the rest of your days, searching for your missing half. Sad story, you might want to get the kleenex box.

You haven't got a snowballs chance in hell at making any kind of a life for yourself. The game was over the minute you were born. You might as well lay down and take a lethal injection and go into dreamland and have a nice nap.

What would this world be like if all lived by the Golden Rule alone. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Simple. We can't even live by one rule, so ten commandments are not going to stop us from doing the deplorable stuff that we do to one another. Love thy neighbor? Right. Alot of us don't even know our neighbors, but we don't even like them. We are a sorry bunch of people in this country, just read the news in the morning paper, or online. Sad but true.

yep,How few try this concept?the world is so confused as to what love is..True it is so hard to love when people dont give back,or even try..but just try another, and another..And the commandments there were 10,but reduced to 2 to make it easier to comprehend,as the 2 should be all incompasing..but humans our stubborn, have always been, our conscience and unconscience minds work to either help or direct us,but hurt and confuse us at times..hey maybe I should post this in religious minds thread..

wouldnt it be nice if we could all at least try to make improvments, try to love others

We are making improvements leester, we are still here aren't we, we are not dead yet. Humans are stubborn because they are confused. We have to understand the problem before we can have a solution in order to do anything about it. And that is a very deep subject.

Christianity and the organized religions as well as the corporate dominace of governance are there to erase your spirit of rebellion. They don't exsist to take you to god or to heaven. It is the obvious control and subjugation of the spirit of rebellion.

To repress rebellion is to maintain the status quo, a condition which binds the mortal creature in a state of intellectual or physical slavery. But it is impossible to chain man merely by inslaving the body, the mind also must be held and to accomplish this, fear is the accepted weapon. The common man must fear life, fear death, fear God, fear the Devil and fear most his overlords, the keepers of his destiny.

That shalt have no other gods before me
has sure done a lot to promote peace in the world.

I the LORD your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and fourth generation of those who reject me

Whoever wrote this sure created an ogre to terrify the masses.

Does anyone really care about idols and graven images?

Injunctions against killing and theft are a normal part of society and surely existed long before they were codified.

Actually, on of the oldest set of laws written was the Code of Hammurabi which
is often pointed to as the first example of the legal concept that some laws are so basic as to be beyond the ability of even a king to change. Hammurabi had the laws inscribed in stone, so they were immutable.

The Code of Hammurabi was one of several sets of laws in the Ancient Near East. Most of these codes come from similar cultures and racial groups in a relatively small geographical area, and they have passages which resemble each other. The earlier Code of Ur-Nammu (21st century BC), the Hittite laws (ca. 1300 BC), and Mosaic Law (traditionally ca. 1400 BC under Moses), all contain statutes that bear at least passing resemblance to those in the Code of Hammurabi and other codices from the same geographic area.
