| If you don't know Him but want to, or you already know Him, I invite you to participate in this thread. If you don't believe in Him but want to be here, you are welcome but I ask you to follow the rules set up by Dustin/DH:
- make sure your post matches the forum you are posting in.
- Don't post crude messages, or insult or harass others. Be civil.
Im fairly new on this site and feel it is where God wants me to be. I pray that you feel the same and remember why we were created. My bible thread went crazy although there were some excellent posts. I found myself pushing too try and make unbelievers see the Light. That was wrong. Jesus never chased anyone down, He never had to. They flocked to Him wanting, and hungry for answers. Among the many things we are taught by His Word are these verses taken from an NLT version:
Mat 10:14 If a village doesn't welcome you or listen to you, shake off the dust of that place from your feet as you leave.
Luk 9:5 If the people of the village won't receive your message when you enter it, shake off its dust from your feet as you leave. It is a sign that you have abandoned that village to its fate."
This may seem harsh, abandoning them to their fate but the Truth is what people need to hear, all of us. There is also this verse that applies to me atleast. I felt anger and resentment against some and I am told how to handle those situations:
1Pe 3:8 Finally, all of you should be of one mind, full of sympathy toward each other, loving one another with tender hearts and humble minds.
1Pe 3:9 Don't repay evil for evil. Don't retaliate when people say unkind things about you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God wants you to do, and he will bless you for it.
I doubt Paul/Saul could have been witnessed to by a mere man, so God Himself appeared to him and slapped him silly Paul, who had more zeal for killing christians and destroying every trace of christianity from the face of the Earth, became one of God's greatest servants So I leave the Saul's of this world to God unless He makes it abundantly clear to me that I am supposed to rumble with someone over right and wrong, geesh, spare me Lord.
I started this thread so that christians will know it is to talk about our Lord and Savior, thoughts, testimonies, etc. Others will come, but I figure those that do must want to know about Christ, even if it doesn't seem so
Love to all, your sister in Christ, denise

| Hi Knight, Im reading a book by Charles Stanley called "How to Handle Adversity". I love what he inscribed on the back cover:
"If you are a child of God whose heart's desire is to see God glorified through you, adversity will not put you down for the count. There will be those initial moments of shock and confusion. But the man or woman who has God's perspective on this life and the life to come will always emerge victorious!"
God bless your day, denise

| Thank you for inviting me to your thread. I want to be a witness and a light to others as well.
I was saved in 2000, but took the long way there.
In 1997 I divorced my first husband. I was a drunk into some unspeakable filth and left with another man.
Around 1996, while I was still married, I took my kids, along with a male friend, to the creek. The man and I got drunk and I drove home. On the way, I decided to stop in the middle of the road and look at a tree. A truck came up over the hill and slammed into us.
By the grace of God no one was hurt. The woman in the truck was nine months pregnant. The man in the truck was very friendly and caring. I went home that night (I should have went to jail.) and I worried about the woman. I called the hospital and found she was OK.
Later, as I said, I left my husband for another man. I married him and it was a disaster. I divorced and a year or so later got saved.
I was dating the man who led me to Christ. The man lived in Richwoods, MO. I lived in Illinois at the time. I got a job in Missouri and was looking for house in Richwoods.
I called about this house and it was the man from the accident of years ago. I had never forgotten his name because I felt so guilty all those years. God told me I needed to apologize to him, but I hung up the phone not telling him who I was.
I had chickened out.
I didn't buy his house, but rented a small dumpy place in the middle of the tiny town. One day I was talking to my landlord and told her the story of the accident and about talking to the man and how God wanted me to apologize.
She told me he was across the street that very moment with his wife playing gospel music.
I went over there and told them who I was and that I had been saved. I apologized tearfully for that night.
The man, who is a pastor now, looked at me and said, "Sister, we forgave you that night! Come on to church!"
That man is Pastor David Godat and the church is Book of Acts. We are a small, but on-fire group for Jesus Christ and our church has been growing over the years. We are seeing many souls delivered from meth and alcohol and such and filled with the Holy Ghost. We have tent revivals and fellowship services with other like-minded churches in the area. God has blessed us greatly.
Pastor Dave is on a local AM radio station twice weekly (1010 AM at 10:10 a.m. Tues and Thursdays for those of you who live in the St. Louis area). He also has a prison ministry among other things.
I thank God for his grace and mercy. He delivered me from alcohol and He is no respector of persons. He will deliver you, too. Ask and you shall receive.
God bless you all,
Sister Sarah

| Hi, I'm an ex rock drummer now English professor.
Jesus is the only way, the truth, and the life. He is the only way. If someone doesn't believe it, they are only exercising the free will God gave them. But we'll all stand before the Lord Christ whether we believed ourselves or Him in this life.
I'll be glad I believed in Him on that day

| Ok Nwgrn,I think this is a good thread,And I pray you can understand me this time,as in the past you have A Different view about the Plurity of the Singleness of God..Our Father,But you kind of really said without any kind of difference, how I feel about bringing people to Christ without dragging them there..I have written here for like 8 weeks, and I have shown people many things about my life, shown people I have feelings, presented myself to people, as much as I am this person I try to be...To be real,Damn I even wrote about the night I wanted to kill myself, but instead I met God and Christ that night..
And it has been quite A ROAD,But I dont regret Much of the Hurdles,Or The Results of Peoples Hatred in one form or another..And I have witnessed so much, and Im Tired,AND MY SPIRIT IS TIRED OF Trying to get me to say things, that people are not getting. And wrote about my family, and how cool, even a little different, they are really cool people..
So anyway I was thinking just to nite that I should limit my time and where I should post on this site, and that I have tried to bring a few to know Christ actually through Someone,Yes IM LEE,BUT I AM LEE,with A BIT OF GOD AND HIS SON JESUS,IN HER...And you know what I do mistakes,I have regreted some things I've said,in my life,I have hurt people in my life, but I do try daily,To Know Love,Show Love,Speak Love, everyday of my life as much as ME LEE,can do all around Im A PRETTY NICE GIRL..IM A PRETTY DANG GOOD MOM,A GREAT FRIEND,I LOVE TO HAVE FUN AND LAUGHS..And I create much of it..wheteher it be good most always, but sometimes..oh my..BUT I LOVE JESUS,WHO I BELIEVE IS GODS SON,NOT GOD HIMSELF,BUT JESUS HIMSELF..AND WHY IS THAT SO WRONG,YYYYY is it so different..Im saying what Jesus did say to people so many more times,,JESUS SAYS.....He Is Gods Son,and he is human just like us,and for God to be Our Father he must be seperate not the same or how can Jesus be JESUS..
And My SPIRIT HAS TOLD ME TO WRITE THIS SINCE I WAS BORN AGAIN LIKE 24 YEARS..And I know Many Others that understand this but ssooo not enough,,And this is why the PEOPLE ARE SO CONFUSED..This has been my Prophesy given to me TELL THEM SO THEY WILL KNOW WHO I TRULLY AM...IM NOT GOD IM JESUS..GOD IS OUR FATHER..LOVE HIM,LISTEN TO HIM,BUT ALSO LISTEN TO ME,IM A PART OF YOU THAT HE CANT BE CAUSE HES GOD OUR FATHER BUT NOT US...AND THE HOLY SPIRIT IS HOW WE CAN ALL BE CONNECTED...ITS THE ONLY WWWWAAAAYYYYYYYY...Y is that so bad a connection..Oh And God our Father did change his ways when I (JESUS HIS SON WAS BORN),and When Jesus gave His Human Life, for us to get us to the One we Couldnt touch,He COMPLETED HIS JOURNEY,Then THE COMFORTER,THE force inside to actually Guide us in the right direction. But we must listen with clarity, and dicsern, and live with determinations, and Love for ourselves(ALL OF US)and others..But IM NOT FEELING THE LOVE,Most never in here so I Forgive,But I Still hurt..I PRAY SOMONE GETS WHAT IVE SAID..GOD BLESS THESE PERSONS,They need It AND SO DO IIIII...

| Lee you have planted many seed, one day the seeds will sprout, and The Lord will harvest. You may have planted Begonias as I planted Petunias, beautiful none the less. The Lord said He will weed out. The little mustard seeds we planted might one day be trees, we pray.
Hugs to you

| Hi Lee, I appreciate your letter very much, I apologize that I hadn't seen your writings before that I recall. You have strong faith but the bible tells us that Jesus was God incarnate. God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit all in one and all separate. It is just one of the mysteries of God. But He is so great, just look around, that man/woman in our small brains cannot begin to fathom ALL He is, the Great I Am. When man/woman "creates" a god, that god is limited as we are, finite. But God created us and He has no limits, He is infinite, He is Everything. That is hard for us to grasp I know.
This is how I believe Lee and we aren't that different except we either believe all of God's Word and that it was indeed written by divine inspiration or we don't. There is no grey area. Many people in this "world" try to live their lives believing there's a God that loves them so much they can live in sin and still go to heaven for eternity. That is man's lie. God loves us so much He gives us the choice as to whether or not we choose to live with Him for eternity, or without Him.
God bless, denise
PS There are many things I don't understand about God, but the things He has planned for me to understand are what counts. I have faith that all I need to know will be given to me by Him. I ask Him if I don't understand and He always answers, sometimes Yes you can know, or no, you don't need to know that and sometimes, I'll tell you when you are ready to know it

| I once did not believe in Jesus. It took several things in my life to turn me around and start believing in Jesus. First, my daughter was born with a disease. Secondly, I got will sick. I knew then it was time to start believing and praying to the lord. I got all sorts of bibles to read and I started going to church with my children. We all got saved. Since I started my life has turned around for the better.

(both my brothers were drummers Have you ever seen Newsboys or Casting Crowns live?? They have amazing drummers!!
I believe the same as you simulacrum. I was just reading in a book by Charles Stanley called "How to Handle Adversity". He was talking a lot about the judgement in the last chapters. About how we wonder how people get away with doing evil. What it helped me understand is that ALL will be judged for their deeds, good or bad. ALL pretty much means everybody I don't want to go around thinking "they'll get theirs". God knows I think that sometimes, but the Truth is, ALL will be judged, including Christians. The difference for Christians is that we are covered by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ. He will be there beside each one of us and saying "their with me"! That doesn't give christians a license to go out and sin, but we are saved by Grace(a gift unmerited, unearned). No one can earn their way to heaven by works.
The bible also says that true believers in Christ will be persecuted because of Him but that we should count it all joy if we are suffering for Him. It's sort of like when your a little kid and some bullies are after your brother/or some loved one. You step in and take the beating but you are glad because you did it for them Jesus, gave me life, and I choose to give that life right back to Him.
I suppose I should get some scripture in here and quit being so long-winded!! God bless your day and glad you are here

| Today the most amazing thing happened.
I went to the hospital to pray for a co-worker who had her second heart attack. She's in her 40s. I told her I would be picking her up for church Sunday and she agreed. Praise God.
After I prayed for her, I said, "Woah, I feel the Holy Ghost up in here." A voice from the next bed said, "I have goosebumps." The woman started to cry. I asked if she wanted prayer. She said she did.
When I went to her bed I could see her face was broken out like I had seen with people on meth. She said she was addicted to heroine and came here to detox a bit before going to a rehab. She lived in the city, but God put her in that hospital for a reason. (The hospital is in the next county from St. Louis.)
To make a long story short, she said the sinner's prayer, got saved and I prayed for her deliverance. I gave her my Bible and told her I would be by to see her in rehab because the one she is going to is right on my way home, praise God.
