ok so i was talking to a friend the other night, and as most of you know my ex is getting married next month.
we got into talking about life insurance pollicies (i used to sell insurance so that is why my friend was asking me) anyway her and her hubby are thinkin of takeing out more insurance (he works in the oil feild as a roughneck) so i was kinda helping her out on the different provisions and stuff in the pollicy she was looking at. she asked what my ex had and who he went through (he is also a roughneck) and things like well what if we get divorced and such. so i was telling her how i am still benificary (spelling i know) to all my ex's pollicies. and she freaked out!

i tried to explain to her that it was for the kids, and was going to be in my name until they are 25 and at that point we were going to switch it into their names. (seems reasonable to me because they are not old enough to manage that kind of money and responsibility)

she was asking me if i thought it was weird for it to be like since he's gettin married and all, well i had never thought about it (like i said it's for the kids not me! i mean i guess it's for me to take care of the kids)
so usually any updates he calls and tells me about em and stuff, he has it arranged for me to take care of the furnural with some of it if it comes to that.

should i suggest he get more insurance in his new wifes name as well? (they don't have kids together yet and i don't think she can have kids but you never know) or should i just stay out of it? lol

like you said he trust you will take care of your kids with that money. when someone is starting over they have no idea what will happen.she could pack up an leave tomorrow.Maybe down the road he will increase his policy but its too soon now.
