I have now been divorced for 4 and half years, and I seem to be in the same place now that I was in then. Well, that's not quite true. I have learned quite a bit about myself. I have reached the point where I am about convinced that there is no one out there for me. I have decided to try this one more time, and then I'm done. I go take the vows and join the monastery. I might even shave my head if that is required.
In all seriousness, I really have gotten tired of trying to meet that special someone. I am not sure how to explain this, but it has just gotten to feel like an exercise in futility. I would like to meet a woman in their 40's to early 50's, but it seems a lot of these women are reliving their childhood and dating men in their 20's and 30's. I am not even going to try and compete with that. I am a grown man, well educated, served my country, and paid my dues. If that's not enough, well, there's always the monastery.
I would like to meet an attractive woman who still has that spark of youth. I hope she would like to pack a few clothes, jump on the bike, and just take off for a weekend. I like to be spontaneous, and I like stimulating conversation. I am not big into crowds, and the bar scene really turns me off. Don't get me wrong, I have gone to a bar with my camera phone at the ready. Sometimes you can get some really great off the wall pictures. (Just kidding about that)
Seriously, I am looking for a girl in a woman's body. Someone who isn't trying to find her second youth with someone 10 years younger than she is and is only interested in what he can get now. If that's what you're looking for, then please don't complain when they move on in six months or so. I am looking for someone who is at the same place I am right now. Tired of the dating scene and trying to move on to the next phase. If you think that maybe I am on the same page as you are, I'd love to talk with you. I have put pictures up that are fairly current. I would hope you'd do the same. I have dated women I couldn't even recognize from their online pictures. I really don't need to see your high school picture. I want to know what you look like now.
If this falls through, then I will just stop looking. I have traveled the road alone for a long time now. I don't necessarily like it, but there are worse fates. I won't settle for something less than what I want. Not into barbie dolls, but I would like a lady that takes care of herself. I do have one requirement. When the time comes for me to put my arms around you, please make sure I can do just that. I am 6'2", but if you're to large for my hands to meet behind your back, then I think you need to be looking for someone else.
