Everyday I wake up glad to be on this journey I chose long ago. I take time to smell the roses, and don't concern myself that much with what's going on in the world. Maybe that's because for many years I did, and it didn't matter at all.
As you may have guessed by now, I don't take myself all that seriously, and I appreciate persons who are like-minded. Don't try arguing with me about politics. It may make you feel better to think you are right, but i really don't care. I don't vote. Life is too short to concern myself with things I can't control. I love laughter, adore sarcasm (as long as no one gets hurt), and cry when I'm really sad.
Meat and potatoes guy here. If you love cooking,well I love to cook, too. Always experimenting with marinades it seems; and I can grill one very tasty steak.
I'm kind of guy who actually listens to what women have to say. Maybe that's because I am an only son with three sisters. But what I envy most about women is the way they can communicate. It's too bad more men can't be that way.
I'm also not consumed by my own interests. You won't have me breaking a date because I have to work, or I'm out with the boys. You'll have my undivided attention. Don't worry about feeling like just a piece of furniture. I make okay money for a single guy, a widower actually, and I like my privacy. I am alone but never lonely. I'd rather prepare a great meal and eat it while watching the game on TV (or a movie I've rented) than pay $ for overpriced food at the ballpark or the theater.
As for my expectations of you, I only expect one thing: that you be comfortable in your own skin when you're in the same room with me. If we don't hit it off right away, then it wasn't meant to be.
