Personality
I'm divorced and have two incredible little boys, ages 7 and 8, who live with me full-time. I like learning and trying new things, but within reason. I'm not into sky diving, base jumping or hang gliding. I have no interest in throwing myself from a 10-story building attached to the world's largest rubber band, either. I'm not looking for a husband to support me, or for a father for me or my boys. What I want is something that starts out as a friendship with someone I can do stuff with occasionally, like going to the movies or out to dinner. If it develops into something more, great. If not, then hopefully we've both made a friend out of the deal. I am looking for someone who is mature and can adapt to sudden changes in plans. If you have children of your own, you know how things can change at a moment's notice.

The standard phrase seems to be "I'm not into games", but as far as I'm concerned, that goes without saying. I don't know of anyone who is into playing head games. Trivial Pursuit, Clue, Pictionary, Scrabble, card games, and the occasional Chutes and Ladders or Candyland, however, are very acceptable!

I'm a reasonably intelligent person with a dry sense of humor. I love to read, but don't get much time to do so lately. I love classic rock & roll, reggae, classical and some country music. I also love the opera, but haven't gone in years, unfortunately.

What I'm looking for in a man, is someone who is my equal. If you understand the words of Albert Camus, “Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Just walk beside me and be my friend”, you're already ahead of the game. I want to be able to hold a conversation with you without having you bored to tears or try to pull you away from whatever ball game is on TV, and I don't want you to be so technical that it feels like you're talking down to me, either. I'm looking for someone who shares common interests, but also who wants to introduce me to new things, and who wants to experience new things WITH me. I want someone who will be as comfortable sitting on the couch watching LOST with me, as he would be going to see a live show or opera, or going to the Carnival with me and my kids (eventually). Basically, I want to be able to laugh and have fun with you, but to also be serious when life calls for it.

After 10 years of being in a "couch potato" relationship and taking care of others and putting them before myself, I'm now on a quest to get myself back in shape and to lead a healthier lifestyle, both physically and mentally. If anything I've written interests you, drop me a line. If not, c'est la vie. Best of luck to you in finding what you're looking for!
