I will break two rules of online profiles here: listing some possibly negative physical attributes, and addressing sexual expectations.
Too many people complain that they are disappointed when they meet someone through an online dating site, so it's best to mention attributes I have that some have found "deal breakers" in the past -- I don't want to waste your time or mine. Many women have told me that a large fraction of the men they meet are, to put it politely, too eager in the intimacy department. So, let's get THAT out of the way as well.
I am short at 5'7", my teeth are a bit worn so my smile is less than perfect, and, while fit (147 lbs. 17% body fat), I do not quite have "six pack abs" (except, perhaps, on a good day, almost -- LOL).
On the plus side: I'm told I don't smell.

On the intimacy front, I believe in a "friends first" approach, truly. I am exclusive from the first kiss on, focusing on one partner at a time. People have many facets to them, that combine to make the complete package one hopes to come to love and cherish. A potential life partner deserves my complete attention to discover what those facets are. I am obviously not looking for a series of one night stands, or a casual relationship, nor do I cling to someone while hoping to find a "bigger, better deal". I measure relationships by quality, not quantity.

I have a seven year old son and fourteen year old daughter who live with their mother in Washington State. I fly up to see them at least once a month.
Do you have pets? I adore cats, dogs, and generally all animals, though I an currently petless. It is my belief that how we treat them is a reflection of how we treat people. I have no known allergies to domestic animals.
My idea of recreation is moderate physical activity (hiking, swimming, taking brisk walks, working out) and I very much enjoy playing pool (billiards).

Seriously, I am a fan of Indian (have been developing my Vindaloo curry for years) and Asian cooking (though you may not want to know how fish sauce is made), as well as more pedestrian fare: steaks, seafood, etc. I've found that one of the most romantic things to do together is plan, obtain the ingredients for, prepare, enjoy, and reflect upon a meal. If the time comes when my partner spends the night, she can expect a nice breakfast.Yeah, someone that special to me deserves some pampering. Early in relationship, I like the relaxation of a picnic.
Of course, I am not one to ignore the pleasures of fine dining, theater, ballet, or even opera. But, a treat of hot wings at the local dive bar with a challengingly warped pool table is fine too. Funny thing: I have gotten away with wearing my tux to a dive bar, but never jeans and a tee to the ballet.
Over the years, I've found that I bond best with women who are outgoing, intelligent, cultured, every bit a lady (as I do have a chivalrous nature), and can laugh at themselves (and me, when I deserve it). I have a serious side, but can be prone to random acts of sillyness. Supposedly I have a wry sense of humor.
I want to meet my best friend, confidant, and intimate partner, to become my life-long companion, but am in no rush to do so. She has a kind heart and gentle soul, unafraid to be spontaneously affectionate if the mood hits her: With the right woman, at the right time, I have no shame in kissing up a storm in a coffee shop that makes the 20-something baristas blush (but, not on a first date, O.K.?). I appreciate laugh lines more than layers of makeup.
You better like affection and getting all the attention you desire! Be warned: while not clingy, I will call you every day to hear your voice if that is what you say makes you smile. I do enjoy holding hands, cuddling, and all expressions of genuine affection. I caress lovingly, not grope lustfully.
I've found that I pair well with a woman who is obvious with her desire for affection, since my initially reserved nature might make me overly polite or cautious at first. Physically, I'm most comfortable with someone close to my height or shorter, and about as fit as I am, with a healthy body fat percentage (or working hard to get there -- I could use a gym partner).
If honesty, a willingness to show vulnerability while still having strength of character and will, a lack of "game playing" (you'll know if I want a second date before the first one ends), and a heart-felt appreciation for the strengths, weaknesses, joys, and tears, that make a woman a woman, with the class that makes her a lady, are what you seek, then please, don't be shy: just write.
