I'm from Colorado originally but I have been living in Walla Walla, Washington, DC, San Diego, California. and Beijing, China for the past few years. I'm moving to Durham for grad school in August and of course I don't know anybody or my way around the Triangle area. I'm studying for a Master's in Public Policy at Duke, focusing on environmentally-sustainable energy policy and the economics it's going to take to make it actually happen. I think I'd like to get a PhD and be a college professor some day, but I want to try to save the world and make a little money first before I jump into the better part of a decade's worth of more school 
As for me, well, I'm kind of a nerd, especially when it comes to politics, history, philosophy, cars, etc. But I'm a fun nerd - I play hard and party too! I'm a jokester and I can take it almost as well as I can give it I'm a total political junkie but I'm not an ideologue or anything. I love spending time outdoors and hiking is one of my favorite activities; I can't seem to get the Colorado out of me! I play guitar but haven't played in a band or anything in several years - looking to start doing that again hopefully. I love good food, beer, wine, and whiskeys. I like to cook even though I'm not that great at it, it's the effort that counts right? I love movies but I hate most television (I don't even own a TV). I'm pretty adventurous, usually moreso than I can afford on a student's budget 
I'm here looking to meet some cool girls in my new town. Date-able is even better As for tastes well....frankly I don't really have a specific "type." My last two girlfriends were an introverted 5'2"/100 lbs brunette and an outgoing 6'/190 lbs blonde, so I can't claim too many specific preferences. You just need to catch my eye and intrigue me I am picky when it comes to intellect though: I'm only really attracted to intelligent girls. Though I enjoy studying different religions I am not religious myself and not really interested in seeing people who are strongly committed to a particular religious institution. Sorry, it's nothing personal, it just won't work. Yes, I know I'm about to enter the Bible Belt - I'll deal What else....what else....I'm pretty sensitive to cigarette smoke, so I can't date a smoker. That's about it...
