I am leaving my profile up because I am always interested in meeting new friends. I am happy to say though that I am now seeing a woman and things seem to be going well. I wish all of you luck in finding someone.
I have re-written this profile a couple of times now. I am trying to find that line of making sure to say what is important while not bearing my soul to someone reading it and finding out who I am for the first time...that seems to be a turn-off.
Some notes ahead of time. If you are from Nigeria or currently live in some foreign country, move on. I am not going to wire you money to help you get through whatever tragedy in which you are supposedly involved. Also, I will not e-mail your personal account until I get an idea as to whether or not you a woman actually desiring to know me better or to just solicit me for some web cam site. (Since all of them send pretty much the exact same e-mail at the exact same time...it’s not too hard figure out that’s what they are).
I live in Pittsburgh and am willing to speak with women within 25 miles or so of the Pittsburgh area. I may go a little further (say around 50 miles) if I get to know you and really like you.
It has been said that men, in general, always lie on these sites. I am the exception of that rule and I am not like most guys.
About me. I just turned 36. I am 6’4” and weigh 265 lbs (I just lost 160 lbs). I do not have a perfect body, but I do keep trying to improve my body and be as healthy as possible without eating bark and twigs. I have posted recent pictures of myself (as well as some old ones so you can see what I used to look like) so you know what I look like. I have nothing to hide.
I like all kinds of music, except rap/hip-hop. I can tolerate some country, but it is not my favorite. I like groups like Disturbed, Puddle of Mudd, Motley Crue, Korn…and other groups along those lines. I do not like the club scene as I believe that when on a date you should actually be able to hear what your date is saying. Besides I am an awful dancer! Maybe I would be better now that I am not as heavy, but I don’t know.
I teach math at a Catholic school. I am not overly religious though (Isn’t that a contradiction?) I like my job, but I will honestly tell you that I do not get paid a huge salary by any means. Although I am able to take care of myself and pay my bills, I will not be able to shower expensive gifts upon you or allow you to retire if we are together. You are just going to have to love me for being a great guy and not what I can buy you.
I am caring, intelligent, funny, and a whole host of other things that women always say they want in a guy. I am just waiting for a woman that says she wants those things and actually means it.
I would like to meet a woman who wants to ultimately be in a committed relationship, but please do not expect that to happen after the first date. I have to find you attractive as well. That does not exclude any age, body type, or even race per se, but I do need to like what I see as well. So I would like to see a picture on your profile. (I have gotten quite good at picking out who is real and who is not based on the picture.) I may respond to you if you do not have a picture, but I will not make any arrangements to meet you until I do. (One date with a guy…even though he was dressed as a woman…is more than enough for me.)
I also do not care if you were married before or have children, even though I know it is potentially more challenging because I would have to make those children part of my life and they would want to have me in theirs. I would however have to feel that I would not be permanently considered an outsider.
