Personality
I would like to use some shared experiences establish the grounds for a friendship. I would like someone who would be able to share some of my interests but I would also be excited to have some new activities that belong the the other party.

I had many activities when I was younger and gave up many of them to raise "the kids". Now I want to return to as many of those interests as I can and perhaps experience those new pursuits as well.

I have made the mistake of giving up some friendships that I should have kept. Because I did not spend the time to keep them I have somewhat lost the ability to make new friendships. I realize now that without people in relationships I have very little.

So I need to start with some common ground and through that shared experience the relationship can develop beyond the experiences. I need to be able to exchange ideas on issues that one could look to a "friend" to share. A good ear, a willing supporter, non judgmental, good counselor......a good friend. Of course as a friendship it is mutually shared support.

I am still reasonably active and try to enjoy the outdoors (I escape to Colorado and points West as much as possible). I do many sports but I am no longer competitive...beating the other guy is no longer important to me. Probably the one experience I would start with is sharing the beauty of creation and the great beauty of the west......But it could just as well be the intimacy of a small cafe in a big city. The what is not as important as having a "who". A good friendship is the finest example of giving to someone and getting many times more in return.

Ask me about having a cup of coffee, a game of tennis, a walk in the rain, being a beach bum, hiking anywhere, rollercoasters, or tell me what you like as well.
