After 34 wonderful years of marriage, my wife recently passed away from cancer. When we were married, I took "for better or for worse, in sickness or in health" to heart! I was her primary care giver for 10 months. I did things I didn't know I could do. I promised her she wouldn't pass away in a hospital. She didn't, she passed away at home. I was holding her when she passed away in the wee hours of the morning. Now you know a little something about my character. So, why am I here? Believe me, I don't want to be. But another promise I made to her is that I wouldn't stop living after she was gone. So I'm venturing out again, and wow, is this tough. About me. I'm a secure professional, approaching retirement. I'm active, athletic, balding but in pretty good shape & pretty good health. I'm a man's man, but have a soft side I'm willing share with those I love. I'm not afraid to cry, my wife taught me that. I have 2 grown, married, stable children and 4 wonderful granddaughters. I still love to play full court basketball, although I'm a lot slower now. Don't care for golf, don't have the patience. I love to go places on the spur of the moment. I come alive in autumn. I can antique for hours with someone I care for. I'm looking for that mature someone who shares my interests and wants something long term. I'm not looking for casual anything. Online friends first, but looking to develop something more. Family is important, so if you are looking for someone to party with, I'm not it. I enjoy a night out with the "boys" on occasion, but not much. Prefer a night in with someone special.
