I'm a well educated, well read organic vegetable farmer and engineer. I'm looking for my soul mate and partner to share all aspects of my life. I'm interested in a very wide range of subjects and I have great curiosity and I like to experience life to the fullest. I am a participant not an observer.
I grow vegetables because I want the freshest, best tasting food I can get. I love good food and good wine and I am an excellent cook. I have over 700 cook books and I read them for fun. Unfortunately with the winter weather and a lack of exercise combined with holiday goodies I have gotten very out of shape and I'm having to cut back to one meal a day and I'm trying to get enough exercise. It's summer and farming is in full swing except when it's raining which has been way too often so I'm getting a lot more exercise and I'm often too tired to cook so hopefully I'm losing weight and getting in much better shape. And if Cicero can write long run on sentences so can I, I was an engineering major and not an English major.
I like many different kinds of music and I am presently singing in three different groups: Columbia Chorale, Choral Union and my church choir. I have sung twice at Carnegie Hall. If my partner likes to sing I would hope she joins with me in singing with at least one of the groups. We sing pieces like the Verdi Requiem, Carmina Burana, Handel's Messiah etc. I'm also a claw hammer banjo player.
I don't have a TV and I don't want a TV. I have thousands of books, mostly nonfiction and I enjoy reading. I get my news from NPR and the BBC. I enjoy live music with my friends better than listening to recorded music.
I hope my partner likes cats because I have five of them that share my life. Orange Thing is sitting on my lap as I type and Princess is sitting next to the computer and getting in the way of my typing. All the cats except one just showed up. If you come to my farm you get fed and if you are friendly and hang around you end up moving in. I have added a Great Pyrenees puppy to the menagerie and she is in the chewing up everything in sight stage.
I'm looking for a lady that likes romance and holdings hands and snuggling. I enjoy lots of physical contact and hope you do to.
I love warm salt water and putting my face in the water and looking at all the pretty fishes. I also like sailing and have crewed boats from a Hunter 22 to a 100 ton topsail schooner.
I'm an engineer and very good with things mechanical. I can fix just about anything. That said I am very disorganized and I am easily distracted and some times things slip through the cracks and don't get finished.
I don't look my age or relate to being this old. I move fast, have lots of interests and I want to see and do many things. I walk whenever possible and I don't like to poke when I'm trying to get some where. Now if I'm in an interesting place I can poke around all day looking at neat stuff. But if I'm trying to get to a neat place I don't like to dawdle.
