Personality
Hi. Thanks for clicking. Maybe we will click a lot more soon. I am very outdoorsy and rarely go anywhere without my dog. We go for a walk in the forest every day. There's no such thing as bad weather... just improper gear. I am hoping to meet a nice woman who would enjoy hiking, picnicking, barbecues and general celebrations of nature. Let's make some plans. From there, we will see what happens. I think one challenge of online dating is that we are meeting a lot of people who are meeting a lot of people. The process itself becomes a hobby. At one point, I even made a spreadsheet to keep track of everyone. How romantic is that?

Essentially, I am decent, intelligent, fun loving guy looking for a partner with some shared interests, who will bring an interesting combination of personality and experience to the relationship. I’d like to meet someone who would be willing to put down online dating for a time to give US a chance if we seem to be headed in the right direction. In some ways, I miss old style one-on-one analog dating. I am not good at female juggling. I tried it; but ended up dropping a lot of them.

I don’t mind being single. Experience has taught me that sharing enhances life. I have also learned that having a lot in common is not enough to make things work. There are so many intangibles. Conversely, I have found that I can get along just fine among those with whom I have very little in common. Communications is the key.

My personality has been described as an outgoing introvert. During the 80s, one of my coworkers described me as a communist yuppie. I can be very long winded; but also enjoy quiet times. I never seem lonely by myself; but can feel that way in a crowd. I easily strike up conversations with strangers. Besides daily forest excursions, I enjoy scenic travel, wildlife photography, cooking of all sorts (try my nuclear enchiladas), vegetable gardening, reading obscure history books, jazz, blues and eclectic music, NPR, flying kites, tomfoolery and power lounging. Politically, I am left of center. Concerned about environmental issues, I volunteer as a marsh monitor for conservation groups. I am single, thoroughly housebroken and available. Easy going and versatile, I am just as comfortable in boxer shorts as I am in bikini briefs.

What do you think about guys like me who are totally not into sports? OK, once in a blue moon I sneak a peek at Formula One competition; but, other than that, I do not watch sports on television. I don’t watch much television at all; but sometimes retreat to a quiet corner with a thick, heavily annotated volume about an obscure aspect of history. Does this seem compatible with your lifestyle?

I am hoping to meet an intelligent, independent minded woman with a positive outlook on life. A sense of humor is important. I have met some terrific women through online dating. A few have become good friends. At this point, I am seeking a partner, rather than a pen pal or chat mate. Realistically, I understand that long term relationships have to start somewhere else. So... If you enjoy a nice massage after a rough day at work, a long scenic hike or a sensational barbecue, let's get in touch.
