Funny, intelligent, articulate, resourceful, compassionate, and determined are some of the adjectives my friends use to describe me. These qualities have served me well in life an allowed me to accomplish most of the goals I’ve set for myself.
The thing that bothers me the most is dishonesty. My memory isn’t good enough to be a good liar so I learned a long time ago to just go ahead and tell the truth. Something else that bothers me almost as much is someone who is in denial. Anybody who can’t accept the truth and the facts at hand choosing instead to pervert them to suit what they choose to see is headed for a life fraught with trouble and strife. If you can’t be honest with your self you certainly can’t be honest with anybody else!
Read the other things I've written and I think you'll have a pretty good idea of what I'm looking for. There are two things that I’d add. First, communication. It’s something I believe in, I am good at, and I absolutely require. Second, to coin a phrase from Dr. Phil, emotional honesty and forthrightness. It is at the very core of the most meaningful and fulfilling relationship.
Life is all about compromise. That being said, there are things that one should never compromise. These go to matters of integrity and basic dignity. Things beyond that are subject to compromise, keeping in mind that compromise is a two way street.
