I have been in one long term relationship - married to an attorney for 28 years. Widowed since 1994. I have one daughter who lives in Albuquerque. We are very close.
After my husband's death, I had an idea for a business and was able to see it developed up to a point and then sold it to someone else to market - they still have not made this into the financially rewarding company it could be but I still think it is a much needed product and it was a great learning experience for me.
I lived in San Diego for many years and returned to my hometown in 1998. I did Child Protective Service investigations and after 6 years decided that was enough. I retired almost 2 years ago and love it. I now take pottery classes and enjoy them tremendously - now working with porcelain. Will never support myself this way but it is relaxing and rewarding.
I also enjoy working in my flower beds, being involved in family functions (large & happy family), reading, working sudokus, walking my labyrinth, and spending time with my 94 year old father.
Concerning future relationships, I would love to find someone that truly feels good about themselves - not looking for someone to make them complete. A relationship where two whole people can walk side by side, enjoying the special moments each day brings. Enjoying activities together but secure enough in the relationship so that each can pursue different interests. I want someone who is trustworthy, honest, tolerant, and fun. Someone that can make a walk around the yard feel like a treat and who also loves to travel and enjoy new cultures and experiences. At this stage in my life, I do not want to "play the singles scene". I want a great friend and a friendship that just might be the basis for a long term relationship.
Last places I visited: Charleston, San Diego, Nevada City, Nashville, Florida (not my favorite place in summer) - also have been to Maui and Europe and Equador. I would love to do more traveling – and just about anywhere!
