I'm a hard-working but fun divorced single mom of one smart, beautiful, and well-mannered almost-6-year-old daughter. I am a very dedicated high school teacher and teacher's union leader. I pride myself on maintaining a beautiful home and filling it as often as possible with family and friends. I love to cook, entertain, and to be entertained!
My interests are wide-ranging, from spending time at the family cottage up north, to travel (love Europe and Caribbean cruises as well as those "great spots" right here in Michigan), reading, gardening, politics (I'm a moderate but pretty devout Democrat), sports (love high school and college football, Red Wings, Tigers, etc.), movies, music, dining out, etc. Really, I'm usually one to try and enjoy a variety of new experiences and hobbies.
I'm financially and otherwise pretty independent and looking for someone who is the same. I'm not looking for someone to "take care of me" financially or for someone who wants to be "taken care of" in that respect.
I am looking for a co-equal partner in parenting and in life that treats people with respect and empathy, works hard but knows how to relax and get the most out of life when not working, likes to travel, shares my basic political values, is well-educated, and enjoys (and knows how to have!) an intellectually stimulating conversation as much as I do.
I am not looking for a father for my daughter - she already has a very loving and good one with whom I share a healthy and positive co-parenting relationship. I would, however, only develop a lasting relationship with a man that relates well to children, understands and values the fact that she is my first priority, and is at least open to the possibility of having another child - as I am.
