*My pic(s) are pending.* I am your basic old fashioned, hopeful not hopeless romantic, chivalrous, well mannered guy. Old folks, animals and kids tend to take an immediate liking to me which I have been told is a pretty good indicator as to whether or not someone is a trustworthy person.
What I am looking for is really very simple. I want someone who shares the same or many of the same likes and dislikes that I do. I like movies, reading, road trips, history, politics, current events, the occasional outing involving live theater, fundraisers, street/art festivals, and this one is a non-negotiable: you must be physically active and exercise on a regular basis. (If you are a smoker I am sorry but that is a deal breaker for me.) One of my life goals is to someday hike the Appalachian Trail for at least a week or two. I would like to be able to make that trip with the last great love of my life. I'd like to end that vacation with a week long cruise somewhere to recover.
The worst addiction I have is a bowl of Blue Bell ice cream(mint choc. chip, choc chip cookie dough, or moolenium crunch) or several ice cold,frosted mugs of A&W rootbeer. I do enjoy enjoy the occasional margarita or glass of wine but no one will ever accuse me of being an alcoholic. If your idea of a good time is hanging out in smoke filled bars (and I don't care who is playing there) we probably aren't a good match either. I know I probably sound so far like the biggest spoilsport but if I had a nickel for every person who told me I should be a standup comic or DJ because of my ability to make just about anyone laugh well then I'd have enough money to take us out for a really nice steak dinner.
Last but not least, I'm not the type to smack anyone upside the head with a 40 lb. family Bible but I do have fairly conservative, "religious" Christian beliefs and need someone who will go to church with me. Having said that no one has ever accused me of being a prude so if you're able to handle tasteful PDA I am the kind of guy who is unashamedly affectionate even in public. My personal observations over the course of my life tell me that it's not that opposites attract but it's people who have the most in common and enjoy each other's company even when no one is saying a word who end up sticking together for the long run.
