I am not getting older, I am getting better and am ready to laugh & love, dance & dip, and adore & admire. I am a practical romantic, a grounded idealist, and a conservative liberal, easily entertained by intelligent "tit for tat."
My heritage is mixed. I am proud of it and like who I am. My Norwegian ancestry provides my crystal blue eyes, high cheekbones, long legs, and humor. The German provides intelligence and common sense. The French provides sensitivity and sensuality, of course, and the English provides my manners dignity, and grace.
I am moved by the pride of parades, the pomp of concert bands, the patriotism of National Anthems, and the trusting innocence of children. I despise racism, bigotry, child abuse, and what alcohol and other drugs do to families. My passion is for theatre & travel and I yearn to sing with the locals again in the pubs of Edinburgh and to sit front row, dress-circle in Her Majesty's Royal Theatre, London, perhaps to watch something brilliant like my favorite musical, Les Miserables.
I am an avid reader and especially am stimulated by the study of psychology, human behavior, and my genealogy. Spending time with friends and family laughing and loving is definitely quality time, as is quiet time spent with myself writing or reading or thinking. I love to dance, to swim, and to watch baseball, but hockey is my favorite spectator sport and challenges my usual calm dignity. I also have a passion for singing along to the oldies--in key or not. I am looking for a man who is a natural peacemaker, and an architect of harmony and love, a spirited confidente, a collector of respect, an engineer of romance, and a realistic dreamer, who easily laughs at his own character defects and is connected to the universal spirituality. In fact, the two of us will probably share an immediate, passionate connection and a number of positive qualities, including the ability to laugh and to cry together.
My man would throw off the shoes. He would turn up the ole' time rock&roll and barefoot me across the kitchen floor, laughing together for not knowing the right words & for singing loudly and off key. Then he'd slow it down to R&B and dance me--perhaps with Leonard Cohen directing. He might take me to small and intimate people gatherings, with everyone contributing and everyone laughing together, enjoying the discovery of one another. I would be happy too if he would quietly sit with me as we each read our favorites, occasionally sharing a smile.
