Hi!
Only in Palestine for about 6 weeks...
I'm a computer-gaming nut trying to start a home-based business. I've been an OTR truck driver, newspaper reporter, rod-and-chain man on a survey team, customer service rep for a municipal utility, apprentice plumber, boat captain, and a few other occupations thrown in. Until I can get the internet business going, I’m currently slinging hash browns for a living.
-I enjoy (pleasant) surprises, and am open to new ideas, but might need to be coaxed to give them a shot. I'm a little shy until one gets to know me…then, lol, Katie bar the door!
-My best friend says I can converse knowledgeably about almost anything, but have to be told to come in out of the rain.
-I like cats, though I'm not currently owned by one.
-My philosophy on life is quite simple: If I can look in the mirror at the end of the day and say "I didn't hurt anyone unavoidably today, and I might even have helped someone," then I'm living right. I have all the basic Girl Scout virtues (even though that organization terminated my membership at age 10...more on that if you're interested).
-My all-time favorite book is "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand, but I favor Nora Roberts, James Lee Burke, Anne MacCaffery, Robert Heinlein and Mercedes Lackey for light reading.
-I have two kids (35 and 38), who have, between them, gifted me with 7 grand’s.
The guy I'd like to meet?
*He reads, enjoys word play and flirting.
*He's tall (since I'm only 5'2" that's not a stretch, lol).
*He likes kids and animals (especially cats), and enjoys both being pampered and pampering.
*He's a toucher-holds hands, arm around shoulder, no-reason touches on cheek (or elsewhere, depending, lol).
*He's patient (I can be a real ditz at times).
*He's supportive and protective without being smothering.
*He's equally at home in a 5-star restaurant and my daughter's kitchen; in a pair of worn jeans and a tux; in his own skin and mine.
