I'm a straight forward, fairly simple, slightly refined, moderately intelligent, extremely honest, open minded, comfortably sensitive, occasionally goofy, appropriately serious, very considerate and considerably affectionate former Marine/toughguy. I’m generally reserved in new environments, but outgoing and fun around friends and family. I like to laugh and have fun, but sometimes need others of that type to help bring it out.
I like to do just about everything because I like variety. I like to be outside if it’s nice, even if it's just relaxing in a hammock; or curling up on the couch on a gloomy day with a good woman and a feel-good movie. Yes ladies, I like to cuddle, and I especially like it when a woman lays her head on my chest and the fragrance of her hair fills my mind, it’s incredibly relaxing and invigorating at the same time.
(WARNING: As wonderful as it sounds, the average hammock cannot support two people and two large dogs!)
What I’m looking for: to meet new people, make new friends, and potentially Miss., Ms., or eventually Mrs. Right. For the later, I’m looking for a strong, honest, caring and affectionate woman to spend time with. Someone who doesn't mind getting dirty or dressing up. I like physical contact, to touch and be touched, and want a woman who does too. Bonus points to educators, care givers (people or animals), artists, and military.
As far as age goes. It doesn’t matter, true love and friendship transcend physical age. My ID and this profile say I’m 36 but I don’t feel it. Age is little more then a label that identifies how long our souls have been in this form, and as far as this site goes, it’s just a means of narrowing the search. It doesn’t define us and it doesn’t describe us. My general policy on age is ‘don’t ask – don’t tell’, until it’s based on curiosity rather than identification. Statistically speaking, I will probably have the best chance at a long-term/happily ever after relationship with someone 5-10 years my junior, but I’m not going to pass up the perfect mate or potential friend to meet those requirements. Please keep an open mind, I will.
Sound too good to be true, not really, but there is small print. I'm no angel, nor am I perfect. I have flaws and bad habits, but relatively speaking, they're minor. I'm a Former Marine and can be a little rough around the edges at times, but highly spit and polish as well. I'm straight forward and about as honest as they come, without being rude or mean, i hope. I have a mind and an oppinion and tend to speak them, but I try to keep it at a controlable level.
I realize this profile is a bit more detailed than most and will scare some of you off. That is unfortunate, because I really am a good guy, but better now than in six months, and worse case scenario, it acts as my first stage of elimination. Oh, and the profile says single, when in fact I'm divorced, but I feel single and prefer that title. And the age parameters are ideal, not absolute, so younger or older alike are welcome.

Because… I express my affections freely and don’t like being told when to do it, especially for the profit of others, and am more likely to give gifts and flowers spontaneously then for a reason.
I think women are beautiful; a form of art to be admired and enjoyed, not hidden; protected but not locked away.
I believe children are our most precious resource, their potential as immeasurable as it is fragile, their smiles and laughter infectious, and their innocence worth fighting for!
Children need discipline (not abuse) to teach them respect and boundries, and to help them grow up to be good people rather than animals.
Animals make better humans than some people!
Women who drive VWs are sexy.
