  Nest getting empty, ready to fly
I'm a Lawmen -turned-Trucker-Turned-Teacher, an adventurous nature lover, but most importantly a devoted father whose life has been consumed with raising my four children through two divorces that were not always easy on them — or me. I delight in my children and found being their primary caretaker the most rewarding experience of my life. But now that three of them are out of the house and the youngest is fast growing up, even they have started telling their old Dad he needs to get out more!  Truth be told, I love to get out, whether it be picnicking in one of the state parks near my home or driving around the country. I so love the varied scenery of this country, especially the Pacific Northwest, that I've never had much desire to go to Europe. (Of course, if YOU want to go, I'm there: I will try most things once, twice and maybe three times.) Currently I earn my living as a Special Ed teacher — a job that has helped me raise a special needs child(Autistic) — but I am fixing to retire, buy some property in the mountains and hit the road.(Travel) Bruised (like so many of us) I’m also counting my blessings and looking forward to the next chapter in my life. I'm a romantic guy who thrives on companionship, enjoys cooking hearty meals with vegetables from my garden and — silly as it really sounds — is happiest when I'm making my partner happy.
I think any good relationship has to start with good chemistry and that is something that can be hard to predict.  That said, because of all the (mostly grown) children in my life, I think it would help to meet someone who either has experience raising children of her own or is at least appreciative of family ties and demands. And because I'm itching to retire in a few years and see the country if not the world, I would love it if you had a similar amount of flexibility and desire for adventure. For now though, let's just focus on getting to know each other and seeing if we click. A woman who loves animals, laughs easily and exudes confidence without being arrogant have always been turn-ons for me. Some attention to fitness is always nice, too. I never set foot in a gym myself, but my constant running around helps me keep my boyish figure
