Let's see, I'll try to describe myself in 12 words: trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. At least that's the goal. I have some trouble with cheerful and reverent. My college majors were science and business. I used these to build an Air Force career as a weather officer/meteorologist, the last portion of which were spent in data processing. This plus the accounting translated to a career in business IT. I have pretty much retired from all of that. My winters are spent mostly in indoor sports. I read a lot. Mostly si-fi books and magazines like Popular Mechanics, Scientific American, Sail and Keplinger. I spend time in my workshop on various "projects," some wood, some stained glass, and some mechanical. Trying to build a wind generator. Dabble in poetry and listing to music. Mostly limericks, Haiku, and Browning. Janis Joplin, Dave Brubeck, and Mamas and Papas. Occasionally ice skating or skiing and bicycling. The rest of the year I'm outside a lot. Gardening(vegetables), civil war reenactment, Habitat for Humanity, archaeology digs, astronomy, archery, and travel. I also help out with Boy Scouts. My absolute favorite summer time activity is competitive sailing. Finally, let's see, I grew up in the Mid-west, traveled to Texas, Asia, and Washington for my Uncle Sam, helped put four kids thru college, and pretty much retired from all that. Other big plans, trying to build a house, but don't really have legs on it yet. Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
I am in excellent health, take no drugs(medicines) and try to run once a week. Like everyone else, I am trying to lose weight and could stand some improvement in the fitness department. I still have all my teeth, save the four wisdom teeth. Aren't you supposed to become wise when they come in? Cloths? Khakis, cammies or jeans with a knit shirt or sweat shirt. Suit and tie for dinner out (not Chilies or Olive Garden), weddings, funeral or church.
Looking for:
I'm still pretty much of a boy scout, I don't know how to be anything else. I'm looking for someone to talk to that is also honest and kind. New interests and hobbies are always welcome. Where to live? The Great Lakes are nice. So is the Big Island of Hawaii. Being near family is good, too.
