I am vegan and it's such an obvious and natural choice for me for so many reasons including my love of animals, environmental concerns, along with social and moral beliefs. I was a vegetarian for a long time, about 15 years, and have been vegan since January 2004. The more I read and was exposed to, the less I could justify eating dairy and eggs. The transition really wasn’t difficult and I feel more at peace now. I like to cook when I have time, so I am either making something out of a vegan cookbooks or modifying a recipe to make it vegan. You could be just as likely to find me overhauling a motorcycle in the garage as you would stir frying tofu kitchen.
I absolutely love being outside as much as I possibly can. I like being in the woods on my mountain bike, on the back roads on my road bike or on the rails-to-trails rollerblading. I love riding my motorcycle and have been riding a Harley all my life; I am into cruising, not racing. On summer weekends if not riding I am probably either out on the lake in my boat or cruising around in my Corvette.
I am a college educated blue collar guy working in a white collar world. The beauty of being raised by my father is I am not afraid of taking on just about any project. In my opinion there is nothing worse than a white collar man who can’t spin a wrench.
I am just as comfortable in a business suit or business casual as I am in jeans and a black tee-shirt. Because of my background and the way I was raised I am just as comfortable talking with the janitor as I am the CEO.
I have a German Shepard and a kitten (yes, they get along!). They are always happy to see me come through the door. Even though I work in corporate America, I like the outdoors, hiking, mountain bike riding, rollerblading, etc. and enjoy spending time at a lake or the beach. I like to read and listen to good music like John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Morrissey, John Mellencamp, Keb’ Mo’, Sarah McLachlan and many, many others (my musical taste is all over the map). I like having family and friends over but I also like just hanging out at home with the right person, making a meal together and enjoying a glass of wine and each other. My friends describe me as a very compassionate and caring man. I like being a gentleman and I enjoy being around women. I still believe in opening doors for ladies.
