Hi! Yep, I've been here before. My life has settled down a bit and I find that now that I have the time, I miss hanging out with the folks on DH.
Is there anything worse than trying to describe yourself in a profile?
I'm just me. Sometimes funny, sometimes serious. Sometimes a flirt, sometimes just plain obnoxious! I can be smart, and I can be really, really dumb.....
If Mr. Right is out there (and I have serious doubts on that one) he needs to know that I have no idea who he is. I won't know until he shows up, and even then I'll probably be wrong! LOL! I'm not terribly complicated, but I'm not very simple either.
I should probably mention that I know long distance relationships work for a lot of people. My luck hasn't been great with them. If you live outside the Chicago area and are looking for more than friendship, you have your work cut out for you!
Okay, now that I've scared you off completely.... let me add that I'm actually very much a hopeful romantic. I love being in love. Romance isn't the grand gesture, and it isn't pretty words. It's being there with chicken soup and tissues when the flu hits. It's going to a party together, catching each other's eye across the room and feeling like the luckiest people there because you'll be leaving together. It's that call or text in the middle of the day to say "I'm thinking of you". It's making dinner together, feeding each other tastes, leaving the dishes and finishing the wine on the deck while watching the stars. Romance comes from knowing someone, liking them, and caring enough to show it. And I'm hopeful that it's out there for me.
