I spent most of the past five years teaching English in Korea -- an adventure I launched into after a string of bad luck jolted me into deciding to chuck it all and do something completely different. I've finally adjusted to not being an exotic foreigner any more now that I'm back in the Land of Corn-Free Pizza.
I tend to do things that make me seem braver than I am. Wandering off-course isn't a trauma, even if I'm in another country where I can't speak the language or read the signs. "You're not lost," I tell myself, "just adventuring!" My guitar playing exemplifies the saying, "If you can't learn to do something well, learn to enjoy doing it poorly."
It's like I'm the quirky girlfriend in a romantic comedy, with no lead actor and no script. The no script I can live with. But it's hard to be the quirky girlfriend with no leading man.
I'm looking for a Christian man that can make sparks fly with me. I like a guy who has learned a lot, be it formal education or School of Hard Knocks. I'm attracted to curiosity and a sense of adventure, and to somebody who lives the gospel rather than preaching it -- unless he's a pastor and it's his job to preach, of course. Somebody who has had time and opportunities to accumulate some life experiences and would like to share the new experiences with me.
