Hello:
Thanks for looking at my profile. First, let me apologize for the photos… a friend of mine says I look angry in them. That’s not the case. I took them myself, and no matter how I tried, I could not force a natural-looking smile. They all came out looking very goofy and fake. I guess I need a little inspiration for a nice, natural smile. Could you provide that inspiration…? 
About me: Well, I’m a very easy-going, engineering professional with a good education and a successful military career behind me. I am very active in the outdoors; kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing… just about anything outdoors is of interest to me. I love music and have a very large, eclectic collection ranging from classical to soft rock. Traditional American folk and Traditional Irish / Celtic music are among my favorites.
I am very old-fashioned when it comes to relationships. I place a very high value on communication, trust, and loyalty. I believe in holding hands, opening doors, and being a gentleman.
I guess I’m just a hopeless romantic; my idea of a wonderful evening would be dinner by candlelight in a cozy restaurant and either some live theater or perhaps an acoustic music performance at a little cafe. Or perhaps, cooking a nice meal at home and then sitting before the fireplace with a nice glass of wine with a little Mozart playing in the background...An ideal weekend get-away would be to a little B&B up north with NO TV.
There are times I also enjoy going to places like Margaritas for some good Mexican food, and I really enjoy little Irish pubs; the atmosphere always makes me feel at home.
I seek a lady that would like to join me in my outdoor activities, but someone that would share her interests with me as well. I am not looking for a Xerox copy of myself. I seek someone to walk along side me, not in my shadow.
I firmly believe you need to like someone before you can ever love them. Thus, my future match needs to be my best friend and confidant as well.
I’ve been out of the dating scene for a long time now, and to be truthful; I’m finding it to be very difficult to get back into. It seems as though the lady I seek no longer exists. I am not asking for perfection, as I am not perfect by any means. All I seek is someone with similar interests and values, and someone that can bring honesty and integrity into a relationship.
I think it is important to mention a few show-stoppers with me: smokers, drug users and heavy drinkers, please do not respond. I also have difficulty with tattoos and body piercing… just turns me off big time. Pierced ears are fine.
