Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward
One of the best known couples in Hollywood in recent memory, they were married in 1958. Despite the pressures of having two people in the same business they were married for 50 years, until Newman’s death in 2008.
Paul and Linda McCartney
One of the four original Beatles, Paul McCartney has had a fabulous career as a member of the "Fab Four", plus also as a solo performer. In 1969, Paul and Linda were married, and led a happily married life until Linda’s death in 1998 from Breast Cancer.
Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall
Two of the most popular movie stars in the middle of the 20th Century, Bogart and Bacall were in several movies together. Both were married to other people, and finally in 1945, they were married. They remained happily married until Bogart’s death in 1957.
John Lennon and Yoko Ono
Another of the original Beatles, Lennon had been married and was divorced in the late 60’s. Lennon and Ono had known each other for many years and were married in 1969. The couple remained married and in the news for their anti-war protests until Lennon was shot dead in 1980.
Lucille Ball and Desi Arnez
Lucy and Desi were one of the most popular couples in television history during the late 1950’s. The classic show I Love Lucy has been one of the most popular shows of all time, and the couple was also featured in several movies together. Lucy and Desi were married from 1940 to their divorce in 1960.
Ryan O’Neal and Farrah Fawcett
Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal have been involved in relationships from 1979 to 1997 and again from 2001 until her death in 2009. The time these two were together were marked with highs and lows, but they were a devoted couple until her death from Cancer.
Robert Wagner and Natalie Wood
Two of the most famous movie stars of the 50’s and 60’s, Wagner and Wood were featured in many movies and led the life that was expected of a star couple in Hollywood. They were actually married twice. Once from 1957 to 1962 and again from 1972 until her death in 1981.
Demi Moore and Bruce Willis
Two of the biggest box office stars of the 1980’s and 1990’s were also one of the most famous Hollywood couples. The couple was married from 1987 to 2000 when they were divorced.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie
Two of the biggest stars of today’s Hollywood scene are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. “Brangelina” have been together from 2005 until present day. They have been a headline making couple from their causes to their adoption of children.
Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton
Two of the best known actors of their day, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton were married to each other twice. The first time they were married from 1964 to 1974 and again from 1975 to 1976. However, they have been tied together in history as a great couple.
Vivien Leigh and Laurence Olivier
Two great movie stars, Leigh and Olivier had been married to others, but married each other in 1940. They were a happily married couple until their divorce in 1960.
Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh
Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh were two big box office stars and were also one of the best known couples in Hollywood. They were married from 1951 to 1962, when they were divorced.
George Burns and Gracie Allen
Two of the biggest stars in Vaudeville were George Burns and Gracie Allen. They had a comedy act on the stage and later were one of the first stars in the new medium of television. Burns and Allen were married from 1926 until her death in 1964.
