For everyone who doesn't want to hear about the bible, or Jesus, I know that there are others that actually do want to learn of Jesus, of the bible and have questions. If you truly are here to learn of Jesus, of the bible, don't be afraid to ask a legitimate question. All bible quotes are welcomed and bring all that you are. You are welcomed to this thread. Original thoughts are very much welcomed here, but be prepared for questions about those thoughts.

I will warn everyone that in this thread there will no be any personal attacks, or insults allowed. I rarely block anyone, but I will not tolerate personal attacks whatsoever from anyone and so I will block.

Any questions you have about Jesus lets answer them. Also for Christians on this thread I welcome any personal stories you have about what Jesus has done for you in your life.

God Bless all of you!!!!

Everyone wants to know the beliefs of all. Whether you like it or not. But, until you can prove something to someone who cannot see it for themselves... WE OTHERS, should view it as, "you really are not living it to begin with since you are unable to convince us".

Considering how the bible depicts Jesus as an insane megalomaniac who shows cruelty to animals, bigotry and wanted men and boys to worship him instead of loving their families, friends and enjoying sex with woman only someone who is mentally deficient would want to turn to Jesus.

I'm having trouble taking the biblical Jesus as my lord. How is death saving us? Does the undertaker have it on us all? Jesus dying for our sins is like carrying out a deal with the devil.

Jesus I'm not worried about, he has been 2000 years.

Jesus is the light.

John 1
King James Version (KJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

No, the acceptance of Faith over substance and experience holds no appeal to me. you offer empty promises in grandiose emotional clothing, and a a substitution of belief for spirituality that is what Jesus was really teaching. He said- The Kingdom Of God is Within you. If God is within me and I turn there, why do I need your religiousity?

Having sat at the feet of a living teacher, what can a dead one offer, A passage from a book written by someone who thinks they are divinely inspired but are truly just another disciple like me?

You offer me promises of salvation after death, and my teacher offers me the same while living, and has put me on the way that Jesus taught. why would I want any of your empty promises and silly self delusion?

It was no deal. God foresaw what would happen, after the fall of Lucifer and 1/3 of the angels, in continuing to be a Creator.

His Divine plan is a perfect one, which not too long from now (get it? pay attention), will consummate in an Earth made new.

If you are at all sincere in your contemplations, Take a look at Revelation chapter 21. And then read through the Gospel of John.

If you do so with and open heart and mind, you may be delightfully surprised in what you discover.

Well, this admission completely shortcircuits your whole "God vs. the God you believe in" thread- if you're not an authority on God, then you're clearly in no position to say whose idea of God is the right or true one.

He also said that no one can come to the Father accept through the Son. It seems like you are cherry picking verses from the bible out of context to make them look like your views when They are no such thing. I can do that with any holy book but it wouldn't be honest of me would it? And it wouldn't prove jack either, accept that you don't care to read the bible in its full context.

The bible according to asanb?
Sorry Ill pass. I value honesty above all, not dishonesty and cherry picking verses and then interpreting them your way.

The light is knowledge. That's what I mean by it. Lucifer rebelled against God in your story, making it false knowledge. Knowledge is Omni-benevolent. Your one good point. Is I still know the sins which isn't a sin, but he is the dark horse who brought that in.

IIRC, blocking a member from your thread puts them on your Block List, meaning you cannot see any of their posts and they cannot see any of yours. It doesn't just block them from that one particular thread.

"For people who aren't Christian, but are considering turning to Jesus," there is a wondrous thing.

Jesus said that no one can even come to Him unless God, the Father draw them. So, if you do feel drawn to Christ, know God is really present in your life.

Many recommend reading the bible, and a good point to begin is the Gospel of John. It is different than the other three gospels, as it contains much more conversation recorded; Jesus' interaction with many types of people.

Any god is present in one's imagination as a figment as much as any of the thousands gods so many people imagined.

Jesus is said to have said many things. Much of it is horrible and immoral garbage that no sane person would say but no one can ever really say Jesus really said it. There were no eyewitnesses who wrote anything down. Period!. Zero!

Many recommend reading the bible, and a good point to begin is the Gospel of John. It is different than the other three gospels, as it contains much more conversation recorded; Jesus' interaction with many types of people.
Wrong, these aren't recordings. They're writing written by unknown authors and scribes. You can keep lying all you want. It doesn't make it true.

where do you get this information that the writers of the bible are unknown? We Christians know who wrote the words of the bible down and where those words came from.

I know that deep down all people have a longing for God. Some just don't know it.

You have to be gentle, they may really be finding out.

Quote from walt_oftheearth:
"For people who aren't Christian, but are considering turning to Jesus," there is a wondrous thing.

Jesus said that no one can even come to Him unless God, the Father draw them. So, if you do feel drawn to Christ, know God is really present in your life.

Many recommend reading the bible, and a good point to begin is the Gospel of John. It is different than the other three gospels, as it contains much more conversation recorded; Jesus' interaction with many types of people.

The situation in Ferguson, MO. is a prime example of people needing God, but not knowing how to go about it. They're angry at the heinous murder of Michael Brown, but go about it in a violent way.

my guess is that most, if not all, of the people angry over the SHOOTING, [nobody's even been indicted for murder nor has murder been found the cause of death] are christian. how does one 'turn to jesus' anyway?

where do you get this information that the writers of the bible are unknown? We Christians know who wrote the words of the bible down and where those words came from.
